  1. When did you get your sense of humour bypass?
  2. It was talked about at some length on 'Off The Ball' today. Stuart and Tam were asking other supporters if they had ever done something like this in honour of one of their players. Get yer flat caps.......
  3. I see the Daily Ranger has modified its story on Eric. What a difference when they actually seek out answers http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/st-mirren-new-boy-eric-3120241
  4. I have loads of hats / caps Bluto. Used to have a flat cap but it has vanished somehere in the mists of time. However recently I needed one for a prop for a shoot (I am a photographer) and afterwards it was chucked into the 'prop box'. Now it has been dusted down and will be worn with pride (Well, in the hoose anyway ).
  5. I recently acquired a flat cap - premonition or what?
  6. Just use the Andy Dorman song - easy to remember the words for St Mirren supporters. Do,do,do,do,do Djemba-Djemba
  7. Flopping at Man U is not exactly a sign of being shit is it? We have the mighty Thommo who never even got a chance to flop in Manchester and he has turned out ok for us. So we now have the following full internationalists in our team - Kello, Thompson, Teale, Djemba-Djemba and others capped at different levels - Campbell, Goodwin, Mclean, McGinn, Wylde, Magennis. Not bad for a wee diddy team
  8. D-D and Goodwin in the same team? Wee Adams is going to have a heart attack the next time we play them
  9. I like Newton but thought he was honking today. Looked terrified and constantly gave the ball away. Feel he should have been subbed a lot earlier. But he wasn't the only one giving it away needlessly. Still 1-0 is respectable and I din't expect anything - just a bit frustrated that we made it too easy for them.
  10. Has Newton passed to a St Mirren player yet? Its bad enough playing Celtic withought passing the ball straight to them.
  11. Can only assume he is injured as he isn't on the bench either.
  12. Official now - Grainger is away.....
  13. I see that Dundee Utd have signed a CH on loan from Newcastle - I thought we were their feeder club????
  14. I'd keep him until the end of the season. We are paper thin and our sub's bench is full of untried youngsters and guys like Reilly who I fear isn't up to standard. Strange about Reilly as obviously Danny doesnt rate him either having loanees in like Bahoken and Campbell and now Mcginnis all in ahead of him. Best let the lad go elsewhere.
  15. Two pieces of good news ..... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/st-mirren-sign-josh-magennis-3093770
  16. Reasonably happy with this. He is only 23 and strong. Aberdeen didnt want him to leave as they obviously still rate him. Boy has something to prove. And we have dropped our interest in Novo so that's a bonus
  17. Watched the game on Alba last night but was too pissed off to post. The number of duff corners we took was shocking. How can a professional hit a dead ball straight out the park at a corner; fail to even keep it in the park; overhit it to no-one at the opposite corner flag? Thommo is great against any defence but FFS you have got to give him a chance. Do we ever practice deal ball situations? Besides that we were unlucky and created far more good chances even with 10 men. Thought Newton's passing was either excellent or rank rotten but we often gave the ball away needlessly. Besides Thommo no-one else looked as if they had a hope in hell of scoring and even he had some bad misses. Lost my enthusiasm for the rest of the campaign. Had forlornly thought there was an outside chance of top six but its back to the usual situation at this time of year.
  18. We are on this thread Shull as we are waiting to watch the game on Alba at 9:55 so have to entertain ourselves away from the Hearts game in the meantime...
  19. I think we are still interested in Stevenson but whether he is interested in us is another matter.
  20. Several clubs in Scotland couldn't get anything from Harkins which tends to indicate to me that the player himself chose when he wanted to play regardless of who the manager was.
  21. We played too wide today and gave up the middle of the park. Goodwin and McGinn were great and coverered enormous amounts of ground to try and hold Thistle. Campbell is fast and skillful but for me he has to play wide as he is pushed off the ball too easily in the middle and quite easily shackled. Wylde has some great crosses but his work-rate was poor and he hugged the touch-line waiting for things to happen. However the guy hasn't played regularly so we have to cut him some slack.
  22. Away fans were only allocated a part of the West stand if it was thought that it was needed and in advance so segregation and tickets could be sorted out. Obviously it is not thought that it is needed as there are still tickets left for the North stand with no obvious indication that Thistle will be bring more than 1,700 with them. EDIT to add: Of course the game wont be sold out so just quietly sneak into the West bank anyway
  23. I agree wholeheartedly with Drew however we have also strengthened IMHO. We did not lose much in quality but have brought in Campbell who looks a real find when played wide, We also have Wylde with a decent pedigree - two positions we were crying out for. And perhaps a rejuvinated Bahoken. On paper he also has a decent pedigree and if his attitude has changed maybe he will surprise us all. Disappointed we are a central defender down but the others disappearing is something I do not think we will miss and having two wide men will hopefully give a better balance to the team. And Teale should be back very soon. Things are improving
  24. Hibs cannot afford him apparently....
