  1. I'm not sure if this link has already been posted by someone else. The Guardian football pundits made their predictions for the Premiership back in August 2015. It makes interesting reading. 9 of the 11 predicted Leicester City to be one of the three relegated teams. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/aug/05/premier-league-2015-16-season-predictions
  2. I think we could be a vastly improved side next season under Rae and Farrell. Given the opportunity to introduce their own choice of recruits that will suit Alex Rae's style of play I am optimistic that we may have a highly competitive team and perhaps we could look forward to an enjoyable 2016-17 season. Promotion ? Optimistic. That's a big ask when you consider the other teams that we are likely be up against. Top 4 may be a realistic target and take it from there. I would expect us to be 20-1 outsiders or bigger. I might be tempted if I see 50-1 available.
  3. I'll be delighted if they get pumped tonight. Being relegated by their closest neighbours would be sweet. Since that season when they brought in Alex Smith and spent their way out of probable relegation and sent us down I have been waiting for this day. Hopefully they are also in serious financial difficulties now that Stephen Thomson is sick of pishing his money away. Here's hoping they get relegated again next season. Tangerine tadgers.
  4. With the annual season-end clearout of deadwood imminent I was wondering what new signings we can expect Alex Rae to pick up before next season. More specifically I wondered how he can avoid repeating the same errors our recent managers have made at this stage. I'm thinking of the sort of "names" that appear to be exciting additions only to turn out to be duds or just lazy b*stards looking for easy money. I was chuffed when we signed Danny Grainger - dud. Ditto Gary Harkins - he couldn't be arsed. Even Marian Kello seemed a class above our usual signings - wrong again ! I'm sure you can think of plenty others. I just can't understand why these guys with big reputations were so useless playing for us. Were they just taking the piss (e.g. no respect for wee soft-touch Danny Lennon ?) or was it our style of play that didn't suit their strengths ? Does Alex Rae have a better eye for a good player who will bring the right attitude ? Can he assemble a squad that are willing to fight for 90+ minutes week after week ? We are going to need that level of commitment from the players next season if we are to avoid another miserable spell trawling along at the wrong end of the division.

    Prince

Innovative and eccentric, a true musical legend. Awful news. RIP wee guy.
  6. Didn't he set up Mallan's goal ? But yes, he was poor today.
  7. My thoughts exactly. Baird is also a much improved central defender since Rae arrived. What would be the chances of Rae tempting Denny Johnstone away from Morton ? I was impressed by him today. I thought he showed a great attitude and commitment, and he showed plenty of skill and power. Could he fill the role Thompson is about to vacate ?? Edited to add, I just noticed he is actually on loan at Morton from Birmingham City. Still, he might be tempted if AR made an enquiry about his availability.
  8. I imagine this explains why you are tedious instead of quick.
  9. That's only because you are Faraway, I look better close up.
  10. He filled the wallets of a few very rich cosmetic surgeons and gave us all a big belly-laugh at his appearance.
  11. He wasn't as funny as his brothers.
  12. You must remember that SD used to be a St Mirren supporter but not any longer. He also loathes our BoD and he is unwilling to attribute any positives to our on-field (or off-field) accomplishments. Fair enough. It puzzles me that, based on his posts on B&W Army, he seems to attend more of our games (home and away) than the majority of St Mirren supporters. Fixation I suppose.
  13. Just like most of our ST holders, when the new stadium opened I picked my specific seat (in the West Stand) for two reasons - 1. to guarantee always being beside my mates. 2. to guarantee always being far away from some cocks I would prefer to avoid. If I wasn't guaranteed having my own regular seat I probably wouldn't bother to renew the ST every year.
  14. Wee John McGinn You didnae win Oh what pity Isn't that shitty
  15. Investors ?? Are you sure that is the correct terminology ?? Since when did pumping hard-earned £££ into a diddy club equate to an investment ?? Just ask Stewart Gilmour or George Campbell how their investment in St Mirren is performing for them. They could have pished their money away in Las Vegas or Monte Carlo and had some fun instead of the misery and stress they have suffered while striving to keeping St Mirren afloat. And why do all the rumours posted on B&W Army always seem to involve a consortium ? Consortiums (consortia ?) imply a need for combined wealth from a number of rich investors. Right now St Mirren could be purchased for buttons, a pocketful of loose change for anyone who has had a vaguely successful career in football. For instance, Peter Crouch could buy St Mirren or instead he could cough up for 4 frocks for Abby Clancy. Which choice is more likely to guarantee him his Nat King Cole ? St Mirren desperately needs a new owner but the danger is that we could be picked up by someone as a plaything (similar to Romanov ?). What we need is a mega-rich philanthropist who has a deep emotional attachment to the club and who can afford to shrug off financial losses. If that fantasy owner doesn't exist then maybe SMISA (and safe mediocrity) is our best hope.
  16. No, I said 'brazen', not 'bra-wearing'.
  17. I remember a boss I had back in the 1980's (yes, I am a very old fart) who was an in-your-face Christian, specifically a member of the 'Plymouth Brethren'. Whenever he was introduced to anyone he would say "hello, my name is ............... , and I am a Christian". Throughout my working life I never came across anyone more immoral or dishonest as him. A brazen liar who would drop anyone / everyone in the shit to cover his own arse. His workplace behaviour was as un-Christian as you could imagine, a right wee f*ckwit that everybody had to watch because he would stab any one his staff in the back if it made him look better. Never trust a self-proferssed Christian.
  18. Nicola Sturgeon must be held responsible for this embarassment. Ruth Davidson would have prevented this abomination.

    Is it Dec Imal-point ?
  20. Obvious wind-up, St Mirren tracksuits don't come in sizes that big.
  21. Oddly, StuD doesn't appear to have anything to add to this thread about a former high-ranking Tory. Perhaps the SNP were somehow to blame for his (and the Tories) despicable behaviour ?
