  1. Nacho Novo is shameful. Really is. A dud at Morton FFS. I'd have preferred we got Kenny Shiels and O'Connor to feckin Novo.
  2. Danny should not get a new deal. I'd prefer if he went early and we got a new guy in to give him games to evaluate who to keep and build for the summer like McInnes/Brown last year at Aberdeen, but deep in a relegation battle that might not be the best option.
  3. The weakest side of the yes campaign for me is the currency debate. I suspect the idea was to adopt the Euro, but that is seen as unpopular and would turn some floating voters off.
  4. Very pleased with a big 3 points. Defence worries me though, we concede too many and hanging on at the end after being 3 up is poor.
  5. Ian Murray suddenly seems the better option.....
  6. We were in danger. Mark Howard was punch drunk for a good bit of it and Mathers was warming up. We were very lucky that season.
  7. Aye and he damn near saved Inverness despite coming in late. Another goal against by Hamilton and we were down. Danny cannot be defended for his work this season.
  8. This being the point. Get the appointment right and you can get a good team.
  9. Or a manager that could you know, sign players who are actually vaguely competent instead of signing them and releasing them 5 months later.
  10. I'd be surprised if his contract is renewed to be honest but it will depend on the finish to the league. At the moment it is not promising
  11. Inverness had two issues. 1. Most people considered that Terry Butcher had taken them as far as you can reasonably expect and there wasn't much else bar winning a cup, which is still possible this season, that you could do with ICT. Therefore the only way was down a bit. 2. Majority of managers are based in the central belt and don't want to relocate or travel such a distance.
  12. The problem I have with Danny is his work in the transfer market. It was woeful this summer- 5 out of 7 signed in the summer not at the club in January? I said last year I didn't feel he could rebuild in the summer and that was sadly correct. Whilst I accept every signing is a gamble can the club depend on him next season?
  13. Both were off the pace and poor. That's two games on the trot we've given the opposition a golden chance to win it with the last kick. Defensively we're still shaky but then McGregor has played what a season and a half at this level, Kelly and Naismith just half a season so we're not blessed with experience.
  14. Great driver who was tarred a bit unfairly by the UK media after incidents with Hill. True legend of the sport.
  15. 3-0 is a disgraceful scoreline against a Motherwell team that isn't as good as previous years. We should be giving them a competitive game not getting handed a doing. Harkins by all accounts has been terrible, indeed saw a comment suggesting we've played the game with 10 men. He's done nothing to suggest he deserves a run the team. McGinn on the other had gets dropped for nothing. Danny's summer signings were mince and none deserve a place at the moment. Shocking stuff today and fearful about the Dundee united game now!
  16. I can't see him breaking into the Newcastle midfield. No shame in that given the talent of Cabaye, Tiote and others there. However he is good enough to be in the Championship long term and I'd understand that if he wants to move on in January. Don't think we should rely on Teale to replace him as he is struggling with injury and is 34(?) now.
  17. I wasn't going as far back as Thatcher, that is an era ago now. I was comparing the last 10 or so years of the current government with the latter of the Brown and Blair years and I fail to see much of a difference. There is nothing wrong with like minded people wanting to achieve the same goal, but the only goal I want is for a decent economy, fair taxes, decent public services and a government that keeps out of people's business. I'll vote for whoever and whatever I think is best placed to do this and if it is not the same as others or other areas so be it, that's democracy. I have to laugh at the "deprived areas should just sit back and accept shite". Deprived areas have voted Labour for years and what do they get? Paisley was Labour controlled for years and it took the votes for granted. Same all over Scotland. Blair and Brown took us into wars which we didn't want, were in cahoots with the investors letting them away with murder which nearly saw the collapse of the banks, ran up masses of debt and pretty much destroyed the economy so much so that I sat in a room in 2008/9 with people worried about their jobs. Braw times. If the North East want to vote differently to the rest of their fellow countrymen I can't see how that's Scotland's fault.
  18. Exactly. 250-300 Buddies or so will be there no matter the prices. £23 is not out the ordinary now- Killie are £22 aren't they? It's the concession prices which are a joke. If we sold hardly any tickets clubs might get the message but....
  19. The problem is Scotland has voted Labour year in year out and Labour were in charge from 1997. Did things get any better? The idea that deprived areas need to fight Tory policies together is a nonsense, the Labour party are full of posh Oxbridge graduates and are as bad as they are these days.
  20. The idea is to drive broadband sales to BT as a loss leader. Given BT makes massive profits they can afford this without anyway. It's not 'free' on Virgin too- Virgin pay BT an amount per XL or premier subscription.
  21. Scotland through to Rugby League World Cup Quarter Finals. Unbeaten in group- great result although New Zealand will be too much for us! Better than Wales- joint hosting the tournament and they lose to the Cook Islands
  22. It could have been a better draw- someone we haven't played for a while but it also could have been far worse considering 4 all SPL ties. Doubt we'd be happy if it we were like Kilmarnock- away to Tannadice! At least we get a decent weekend trip to Dumfries.
  23. We put 4 past St Johnstone in the last game- sure we conceded but still won by scoring 4! Mind you Dundee United put 4 past us, but also did same within an hour this season to St Johnstone and have put 4 past Partick and Ross County.
  24. Cardosi's needs a reservation. So popular now if you haven't reserved you can sometimes not get a table straight away even midweek.
  25. No it doesn't pay the bills but in the end do we want a race to the bottom where we lose all our job benefits and get pay cut and should just be happy to have a job? In 2 years down the line what happens if we are back, take another pay cut or we'll shut it down? I don't know how well paid or otherwise the people at Grangemouth are in comparison with the sector, nor how easy it is to get work in the oil/chemical industries however. I took a pay freeze and hours cut in 2008-2010, but it was defined as temporary and indeed I'm getting pay rises once again and my hours are back up to full as the economy and job book improved. I trusted the management of our company (and could see how difficult getting work at that time was) but I'm not sure if I trust the multi-millionaire owner of this plant. Indeed I'm not sure who I trust in this at all.
