  1. Just what the feck is a true supporter? We are all supporters, some more able and willing to go to every match (lucky them) while others are equally passionate about the club but are unable to do so for many reason beyond being unable to afford it. This pish about being a true supporter grinds my gears as once you label fans along the lines of true supporter, part time and fair weather etc then how can we have unanimity? Be as passionate as you like but stop claiming your support is in some way elitist/superior than any other fan of our wonderful club.
  2. The words youth development means it takes time so an instant fix is not there. Few clubs bring through talented youngsters but those that do like us and Killie are demonstrating this is the only way forward. As for your statement that Dannyis not involved in youth development, then that is not true. I have a good contact within the club who would refute your claim.
  3. Ever contemplated that Danny might be offered a new contract should we stay up or go down? The BOD will make no comment until the end of season but I would not rule out Danny staying, not based on solely the top team but more so on what is happening with youth development and bringing through the next batch of young players. I understand we have some cracking talent coming through and feel the club are progressing this way in the only way possible as money is no longer there to buy in the strength we need in certain positions plus keeping the club in the black as much as possible. We are struggling but sacking the manager may recoil on us - look at Butchers impact on His, hardly productive. What I would like is for some of the key players coming out with a rallying cry and support for Danny.
  4. Let's not forget we have beaten this team. Like us they can blow hot and cold and on our day we can beat any team. Confidence plays a huge role in the game and our lads know the last game against them at Tannadice was a close thing. Nothing to fear IMHO.
  5. Looking forward to hearing Danny and his comments on the game. There can't be anything more he can say without repeating his usual mantra. If he genuinely feels we can survive then he has to tell us how? Our defence is poor and we have nothing up front. How the feck could we not have got Lyle Taylor?
  6. Do we have a decent squad? As much as it is normal to blame the manager, where is this 'decent' squad. They are equally responsible for our performances and the shit we are in. Everyone is responsible at St Mirren FC for success and failure including a BOD who should have taken action when it was clear things were not going well.
  7. The BOD will ultimately decide the fate of the manager. They have a better insight as to what goes on behind the scenes with not just the first team but also where things are in relation to delivering the medium to long time aims of the club. Changing managers is a gamble and exactly who would replace him? Better to let him see out his contract and if the decision is to let him go then we have the close season to bring in the new man and allow him time to rebuild the squad. Personally, I think we will do enough to stay up whether that is via a play off or not.
  8. They have around £28 million debt. It will take more than this lady's donation to resolve Heart's debt. Coming out of admin is the first step. If Leviene goes to Hearts then good luck to him. We should focus on getting our own house in order.
  9. Why would anyone want to go to a club in a dire state? Hearts are gubbed; no money and still in debt. Just where would they get the money to pay his wages when they are rooked? I think Hearts will be lucky to see the season out never mind bring in a manager that would command a higher salary than the current manager. I think there is far more stability with a club our size with little or no debt.
  10. Rubbish. Are you implying that someone who loves the club but cannot afford to go to evefy match is not a true or real supporter? People out of work and those on low incomes who have the club at heart are as much a supporter as those who can and do go to all the games.
  11. Just one question. How do you evidence that the players have no respect for him in the dressing room? I am not saying you are wrong but I also have no idea what the players think of Danny as I am not in that dressing room nor do I have any contact with someone at the club willing to spill the beans to someone who they do not know on the outside of the dressing room. Personally speaking, if players are/were unhappy with his tactics etc then they should grow a pair and resolve the issue internally and move on. I personally feel that we are simply not as good as some think we are and allied to some strange decision and tactics by the manager simply make things worse.
  12. The incentive is that they are paid a decent wage to kick a ball. Self motivation is something any player should have and not relying on someone else having to motivate you. Our team is simply ordinary with no cutting edge. I agree better tactics and playing players in their best position helps but we have been a poor side for the last 2 seasons. The cup Win was superb but hides the fact we are no more than average with a number of talented youngsters and experienced pros coming to the end of their careers.
  13. A great squad? I think the squad is nowhere near great, we have some talented young players and ST up front. great squads have consistency and dominate teams less talented - we do neither and have not done so for many years. You can blame the manager for a lot of things and which he may be guilty of but some players are just not good enough or need to ask if they are doing enough on the park.
  14. And where are Livingston in the SPL table? Oh that's right they are a middle of the table lower league side NOT in the top league, we are. Would you swap places with them and be happy selling our best players? The development of young players will take time at NSP and will bsre fruit.
  15. He is done, unfit and not good enough for Soapdodgers. Shocked if this is the depths Danny and Tommy have sunk to. Wait and see I guess.
  16. Sorry but he is not pish. Anyone playing senior football with a big club don't get there by being pish (your word). Why would anyone come to us ig they saw inane comments about them from those who have not seen them play regularly? If we do bring him in then at least wait until he plays before writing him off. Every player deserves that at least.
  17. FFS. You think I am full of shit because I thought my team had a chance against an ordinary Hibs team. Mate you seriously need to get help. Why should I share your negative and tedious shit. Your approach to being a fan of our club is embarrassing and if our performances affects your negativity so much then bugger off and those who believe in our team alone to discuss matters without your miserable input. If I had your negative outlook for the team I would stop going for the sake of my sanity or call the Samaritans.
  18. A realist? Aye right. You say that if you think we will win a game you will say so. Well, all I have ever seen from you is negative predictions. When was the last time you gave positive preduction? Your constant miserable and 100% negative approach on here is tedium of the highest order and beyond a joke. Perhaps if you learned to accept the little success our team delivers and that this has been the case for decades then life supporting our club becomes a little easier. If you have supported the club all those years then you should know we have more failures than successes.
  19. Team pull out an excellent result at Easter Road and you still continue your feckin tiresome negative pish. You sir are not a supporter of our fine club no matter what say. I have never seen anyone as negative week on week. A fan gets behind the club and supports it as positively as they can. We have no divine right to win any game and the fact we are still playing in the top league while continuing down a prudent path should be applauded and accepted that other clubs similar in stature may be ahead of us in the league but at what cost? Most are on edge of an abyss financially and would you have our board risk our very future to compete with those clubs in a reckless fashion? I hear the club formerly known as Rangers win most week. Why don't you go and watch them? Then again, you would still complain about them winning all the time.
  20. Football is totally unpredictable. Injuries, form and luck all play a part. If they had done this last season Ross County had just started on what would be a decent run and look where they finished up.
  21. I managed to acquire a programme with signatures of both sets of players and Alex Ferguson.
  22. We need more than Campbell up front who is young, inexperienced and if we lose Thommo through injury we have one inexperienced striker to use. My point is that if we needed further cover up front then why wait if the likes of Aligue and Taylor were available on loan and both did a pretty good job scoring wise albeit in the league below. As for the others, Goodwin and Gowser were already at the club and not sure if we were in a battle for Imrie (if it was Dungdee Utd, then wish they had bloody won). Newton was a good bit of business but who else was in for him? There was some talk of Championship clubs but if that was the case then why did he plump to come back to a small club like ours? My point in all this was simply that as others have said, we leave things far too late and by that time most of the potentially decent players have been snapped up by our competitors. I hope Danny has some names in the bag as our squad is far too lightweight particularly at this time of the year when the weather tends to produce more injuries and illness.
  23. FFS Dungdee Utd manage to bring El Aligue (spelling?) in and makes you wonder why we cannot for once beat the competition? We need another front man yet plastics also get Lyle Taylor on loan who scored on his debut.
  24. While some have questioned DL's tactics I simply feel that our team is far too lightweight in number, under strength in a number of areas and some players are not good enough to play week in and week out at this level. I also think that a lot of our players were knackered - particularly in the second half - due to the number of games played in the last week or so and the lack of suitable replacements in the squad to replace them. I know it is the same for most teams but Celtic could rotate their team plus when they had the bulk of the possession then they did not have to expend as much energy as we did chasing the ball. There will need to be some dealings in the transfer market to bolster the squad as much as anything else. Some are knickerwetting here about Ross Country winning two games in a row (they are still below us) and Thistle winning their first game in ages (they are still below us). I did not expect anything from today's game if I am being honest as Celtic have far better players than we do. This was a bad result on the back of being unlucky in our last 2 games and our players looked shattered. I still firmly believe that we have a squad better than Thistle and RC and will finish above them. If Danny can bring in 2 or 3 decent enough players (loan or otherwise) in the right positions then we will be fine.
