  1. Hmmmm... ... I'd say give or take a few grand! ;)
  2. Because he was being undermined by senior players with a grievance and it took him a while to adjust and learn how to tackle it. Ironically, by the time we let him go he seemed to have learned and reinvented himself accordingly. Just my opinion... no evidence to back it up!
  3. Aye... his experience as a manager really has served him and Accies well. ;)
  4. can I have a dod 'o nippy sauce on the side... to go with my tatties?
  5. SUPPORT? hmmmmm... please explain what you mean by this strange concept!!!
  6. Since the mid 80's, I have admired other teams that could break at pace and cut the opposition open with just one or two incisive passes... leading to a Calvary charge and a goal. Hearts were masters of that in the mid 80's... many teams since... even Thistle can do it these days... the Arabs too. We tried it once... at Ibrox... it worked!!! Might well be worth trying again!!!!!!! I know it would mean fewer passes... but I could live with that!
  7. A splash of Worcester and a hint of star anise in the cooking makes all the difference. .. although Mrs Culfeather won't approve.
  8. Oh right... Good for you "real" fans then. Glad you care more than the rest of us.
  9. How do you know they "have done nothing"? Who is "we"? I'm not sure everyone is asking for an "experienced " manager... just confirmation of the way forward.
  10. Read my post again... I explained why! I'm not disagreeing we need to strengthen... GT says the same... I just firmly believe defence is priority.
  11. I think defence is still priority simply because if strengthened, it woukd allow the midfield to be more offensive and creative. As things stand, the midfield spends so much time covering for the defence that it is isolated from the forward line and unable to supply ammunition. Start at the back and the forward deficiencies will be easier to solve.
  12. ohhh... and re inconsistant... Could you honestly have expected anyone to shine in a midfield under TC? The whole team was rank and no player has been able to stand out... however... since Teale took over, signs of the real Kenny McLean have been there.
  13. I am neither lucky nor highly connected... just happened to be in conversation with the right person at the right time (giving him a hard time) when he volunteered the information as a sign of the clubs ambition. How times have changed. Remember the pelters some of our fans gave Adams? Remember the sheer abuse he got from rangers fans? Remember how good he "became" at Blackpool? The same 50% allegations were levelled at him. Hell... I remember them being levelled at Billy Stark. In the current market and given that he is under contract, any less than 500k is theft. He is a better player than the bloke that just went down South from that new Scottish club for twice that.
  14. It was confirmed to me in person by a member of the group responsible for rejecting it! And behold... he's still here. Do you enjoy talking down our best young players and biggest assets? What exactly are you hoping to achieve?
  15. And given that we rejected a bid of 500k for him long before that, your point is moot. He HAS improved since that one.
  16. No whoosh.. I got your twist... Just thought I would add a twist of my own... some realism! ;)
  17. Could it have been a last chance from Teale to show he was worthy of staying on. Easy challenge for the manager to lay down... "we all saw how McLear made an impact... go out today and do something similar... give me a difficult decision to make."
  18. You sure? I thought the very same thing about Lambert when we dropped to the old Div 1... ... his performance in the opening day 7 goal hammering by Raith was a sign of things to come... he disappeared in that league. Skilful players play better the bigger the stage to perform on.
  19. I'm ever the optimist and want to agree... in fact technically I can't disagree. However... the rot and apathy that has seeped into the boardroom and then gone on to permeate every area of our vlub has had me resigned to relegation from just a few "performances" into the season. So hard to shake that apathy when you can no longer be bothered being annoyed at those who can no longer be bothered.
  20. I'm coming round to that way of thinking too... yet still holding to a thread of hope/ misplaced belief that we can stay up. I've actually been pleasantly surprised by how Teale has conducted himself and how he has interviewed since his temp appointment... moreso when you consider that Thompson and Goodwin could have huffed but he seems to have them on board. He has also identified the need for a defender... our first manager to do so in years. A midfielder and striker too. Given his aspirations, I'd not be averse to giving him till the end of the season and a stab at getting the right players in. A new manager would surely mean less cash to invest in that defence. If it doesn't work out, most folks have us down anyway so no harm done... get Mr Experience in for next season as many suggest.
  21. But he has had to work with the players he has inherited. I am NOT saying he is the answer or the BEST candidate for the job... Just acknowledging that he has actually made changes, and improvements.
  22. No need to get abusive. I am entitled to my opinion. So you see no improvement whatsoever since Craig left? Go on... construct a sentence and articulate please...
