St Mirren v Motherwell 6th Feb 2019
Seaside Nipper replied to St.Ricky's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Agree with this. ^^^^^ Our team has no presence and no identity. Our players look weak compared to other teams, probably a combination of lack of belief and regular team time together. The hope that loans and relative strangers can bond and enable us to survive is very doubtful. It’s a continual and repeating disappointment that Saints seem incapable of turning into something robust, efficient and strong as say a Motherwell. or St Johnstone. We just don’t seem to have the nous, a plan and the strategy to survive and prosper in this brutal shitfest of league. We look like a pension top up plan for auld hands and former chugging coaches, only strategy I can see. It’s a truly woeful state of affairs. Bring on the razzmatazz of the Championship where we win some games and play with a smile. -
St Mirren v Motherwell 6th Feb 2019

Pfffft and there it is .... -
Had my doubts at the pilot and the initial launch a few years back now, however persevered and this just seems to get better with each series run. One of the few gems on tv, genuine lol moments

Brexit eh. An excuse for anyone, anything , any company to make a decision not deemed in the UK's interest. God forbid we get this pish extended and have to put up with another couple of years of obfuscating politicos pursuing their personal agendas.

Strategy! What Strategy?
Seaside Nipper replied to Lord Pityme's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Gordon Waddell, dear oh dear..........must be some pressure for column inches. Nothing here, Scottish football's biggest clubs take smaller clubs best talent shocker, aligned to their massive glory hunting support they thereby maintain their duopoly over provincial diddyism without even having to get their own house in some kind of compliant order. Money talks........................ is there anything else ? -
Referee Statistics Andrew Dallas and others 2019
Seaside Nipper replied to St.Ricky's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
You would like to think officials would cringe with embarrassment at referee showings like that and move to at least express some concern or level some criticism. It just switches you off to the credibility of the game up here -
I see, allegedly of course, and as carried by the written press, Willie McKay and his Agency are all over this now,. for all the wrong reasons. The HMRC are referenced, , winding up orders, calling in favours, arranging flights 'on the cheap' etc. etc. etc. All manner of dirty implied and underhanded dealings. Creepiest , most tragic for me were the alleged texts or comms from Sala about the plane and his fears for its reliability. Tragic, and this on the back of news that wreckage has been located.

Referee Statistics Andrew Dallas and others 2019
Seaside Nipper replied to St.Ricky's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Too true. The whole affair on Saturday was an utter embarrassment to the game up here. Top flight football in Scotland eh ..........................? To think some complain about artificial pitches, ha, that's way down the priority list of shame, start with the clearly inept not fit for purpose referees please. Referee awards four penalties in a single game, upon review three are highly contentious. I mean ffs, its a joke. -
Happened to hear Stubbs slabbering on and on last night during a sports segment on radio about Hibs , St Mirren and his ambitions et al. Conveniently pretty much air brushed the whole Rotherham debacle out of the conversation., a debacle he repeated at St Mirren. Basically slated St Mirren for expressing ambition and not giving him the budget of a top six club. Then basically expressed his admiration for Leanne, ffs. Suggested he could lob grenades into the St Mirren back story, shame officials etc. but wanted to keep his class , counsel and moral high ground. What a puerile interview that was. Stubbs is utterly feckin deluded.

Agree, that was a solid programme well worth the watching. Wonder if there will be a follow up with the introduction of the St Mirren influences

Saints v Hibs, 27th January 2019
Seaside Nipper replied to Eric Arthur Blair's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Lost this today from the cusp of winning it. Damaging stuff today. We miss a sitter to get clear then Hibs woke up, we got all weary in thought and control. After they equalised the outcome was inevitable. S McGinn is a fine midfield player , passing positional sense, his problem is he is overweight. He also needs a partner in midfield as we rely too much on him. Mallan took over and ran the show second half. We desperately need to sort out a decent support act for Jackson. Too many newbies and need to settle a shape and establish a sense of a team again. Will we do it in time this season, presently it looks a tall order. Up coming fixture schedule looks ominous. -
That must be some plaice

Hamilton v St Mirren 22/9/18
Seaside Nipper replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Watching that Alba playback really shows what a shit fest our promotion won us. To play utterly shit in partially finished stadia with grounds made of plastic surfaces. f**k this, let’s play football with a smile. Our fans turned up in great numbers to be fed that gash. Scottish top league football is not fit for charging customers an entry fee. -

Football Pundtwit Sutton
Seaside Nipper replied to northstbuddie's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Sutton is simply a loud mouth , he's like an aggressive fan boy and frankly uses belligerence as a substitute for ability and a lack of analytical ability. He is having a go cos its controversial, it keeps him supposedly relevant. Lets face it , he's a failed manager himself , but rather than address shortcomings , he looks to deflect. He appears to have been as good a manager as Stubbs, end of, no, wrong, in fact Stubbs was far more successful !! Says it all -
Saints v Celtic, Friday 14th September
Seaside Nipper replied to Eric Arthur Blair's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Sutton just plays a sadly predictable tune. Normally I don’t mind him but he is unbelievably guilty of playing to his Bhoy friend gallery when in Scotland. It would be refreshing in St mirrens case if he said it was obvious that Stubbs was hopeless, but , no chance. He has no credibility up here because he does not spend time assessing anything other than Glasgow teams. -

Welcome back, Gus MacPherson.
Seaside Nipper replied to Eric Arthur Blair's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Well irrespective of the yays and nays re Gus, it’s undeniable if he comes to Saints as TD that he will cast a shadow. Whether that is protective and positive or sinister, we shall see in time. Personally I’m a bit surprised. Just how many advisors do we need ? I think an organigram should be issued showing roles and responsibilities. It’s getting awfy top heavy looking Sigh [emoji17] -
Welcome back, Gus MacPherson.

The Oran Kearney Interviews Thread
Seaside Nipper replied to shull's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Interviews very well, expect nothing less, an articulate professional. Let’s hope he gets the blend right and the players on board. I’m sure they, like us fans, already sense a more positive vibe. Welcome to St mirren, good luck, OK dokey, let’s roll -
