  1. A colleague of mine was at Forthbank today and mentioned that LTHV could have won about 10-3! Winning away to the top of League 2 who are unbeaten in the league is pretty good going. He reckons it's a stick on for Spartans ground with Meadowbank a less likely alternative.
  2. With the bank of Gary MacK being temporarily out of action, I've stuck some dough on Lewis Morgan for first scorer e/w at 7/1 with Bet365 on Saturday against Brechin. The price seems reasonable considering Bet365 also offer the following for first scorer on Saturday: 9/2 David Clarkson 5/1 Dale Hilson 6/1 Jordan Kirkpatrick 13/2 Josh Todd 9/1 Ethan Erhahon 11/1 Darren Whyte 11/1 Kyle Magennis
  3. I think that's making excuses for them Munoz as they've already played Falkirk at home this season not to mention Hibs and Dundee Utd last season. As far as I'm aware the clubs involved in a league match discuss the operational issues beforehand e.g. is there a clash of strips, how many visiting fans are expected and such like. If Dunfermline's games are all-ticket like ours then it seems odd that they didn't bother sending SMFC any tickets to beforehand to gauge the likely size of visiting support which would help them plan catering, stewarding and policing too. The fact our website clearly states 'entry by pay at the gate' suggests DAFC didn't indicate that tickets were required. Suggestions that only a few hundred visiting fans were expected seem ridiculous unless they're going by their own piss-poor travelling support. I got to the ticket booth at about 3.05pm having queued since about 2.40pm, at that point one of those in the booth was asking a steward to get more tickets as they were about to run out! At the very least DAFC should issue an apology to all those visiting fans that missed the kick off due to utter incompetence.
  4. Isn't it pay at the gate? No mention of tickets on fishal site.
  5. If Morgan signs for a club outside the UK do we get hee haw a la Jamie Fullarton? If so, let's hope Ajax, Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven weren't paying attention to the U21 international match the other week.
  6. Their 2 home league games so far this season have featured 10 goals, our 2 away league games 9 goals so... 0-0 then?
  7. Surely the players should be aware of this by now and wear longer studs from the start? Let the opposition slip all they want.
  8. Certainly not short of self-belief. If Hearts are beneath him why did he go to the bother of giving them a "wonderful presentation"? Odd. Still, I find it difficult to be critical of him after that goal of the season strike at Ibr*x all those years ago although Ian Cameron's role in the goal was more significant.
  9. Failing all that is anyone any good at forging signatures?
  10. Thomson will no doubt go on to referee Champions League matches if not next week then in the group stages, pick up his 5 grand match fee, all expenses paid trip to wherever and laugh up his sleeve at the thought of fans seething about his domestic performances. Defended very well this afternoon with 10 men, I thought Eckersley played well for someone just back from injury. Can't remember Samson having to make a save worthy of the name in the second half, a few hairy moments from crosses certainly but nothing like the EK goalie in midweek pulling off save after save. I'd imagine the home fans would have been pretty annoyed by their lack of invention. If we can win our next two home games against Dundee Utd and Inverness then we'll really start to motor!
  11. i wonder if we'd be fined for playing an under strength team if we put out our U20s in a similar way that some of the English teams have been threatened with in their equivalent competition leading to the farcical situation of substitutions after 2 or 3 minutes. I wouldn't go and watch this match even if it's free on the season ticket as a form of protest against letting the U20s in the competition. To charge money would be an insult. Wonder how Motherwell feel about having to pay for their youth team to play in Ireland, they must hope the subsidy for costs offered by the competition organisers covers the travel and possible accommodation. Expect another tweak to the Colt team line-ups next season after both of the gruesome twosome were knocked out this year with 2 overage players. That'll be increased to 4 or 5 next season to try and get the final that the sponsors really want i.e. Celtic U20s vs Rangers U20s.
  12. I'm a little bit sad in that I keep ticket stubs from games I've been to. I went in to the Main Stand during the 4-1 game in April and have dug out the ticket which was required to gain access after paying cash at the turnstile so they could keep track of how many away fans were transferring to the Main Stand, maximum was 500 if I remember right. Anyway, the ticket looks exactly the same as the one above except it states MAIN STAND PASS instead of the price and has "St Mirren MAIN STAND" at the bottom instead of GMFC V ST M. I take from this home and away tickets probably all look the same in terms of colour. On a different note remember to get your anytime scorer bets on Gary MacKenzie and I've gone for Stelios too. Bet365 are best priced with the former at 14/1 and the latter at 16/1, by means of comparison BetFred are 13/2 and 8/1.
  13. From the Morton website: "We host St Mirren at Cappielow this weekend in the first Renfrewshire derby of the 2017/18 season – and we would like to urge all supporters to please come along to the ground to purchase or collect match tickets as early as possible tomorrow. Any fixture against our local rivals is guaranteed to be busy, but with a larger than usual crowd anticipated combined with the issues we have experienced with our season cards and fan cards, this advice takes on more significance. Fans arriving early will reduce queues both at the ticket office and the turnstiles and ensure speedier entry to the ground for everyone ahead of kick off. Can we please reiterate that there is no cash entry for St Mirren supporters on the day. This is an all-ticket match."
  14. Just had a look at Morton's website after yesterday's statement by Warren Hawke about their dodgy turnstiles - it looks as though the turnstiles will be working as they have made arrangements to issue/collect season tickets. The website seems to indicate home fans can buy tickets on the day of the game (for all their games) with £2 being added to the £18 charged if bought after 1pm. Fckn chancers. The website mentions they have hired a portacabin to issue season tickets on Saturday which I take to mean the reason we can't buy tickets on the day is they have nowhere from which to sell them. Amateur hour right enough. A business who are unwilling to accept money from willing customers. Bonkers.
  15. Having read the statement that Julian Banjos referenced above I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up being a mixture of stewards checking tickets and pay at the gate for those without a brief. Expect chaos especially if they think they've got the electronic turnstiles working by Saturday but they fail about 2pm! I wonder if we recommended Interstadia to them...
  16. At about 4.45pm this afternoon I hope we're able to sing to him "Sign for a big club, you should've signed for a big club..." Obviously will only work if we're winning.
  17. I'd expect them to bring 1000+ on Saturday although not as many as we took to them towards the end of last season. I've thought Sibbald is over-rated for a while now and given he's played over 200 games, I think without checking, while still being relatively young it tells a story that an English 4th division club don't want him. By all accounts Falkirk seem to have more pace up front than previously with Hippolyte-the-diver and Nathan Austen so we'll need to be on our toes at the back. If they still have Aaron Muirhead at right back then Lewis Morgan should have a field day though I'd be wary of Muirhead or Peter Grant clugging Morgan in the same way Grant did to McMullan a couple of seasons back putting him out for 2 or 3 months. We're due a win against this shower especially at home so let's hope it's this Saturday.

    Andy Ryan

I remember Gardner Speirs putting a penalty 'miles' wide of the post against Motherwell at the Love Street end in the 1980's. Something makes me think it might have been the game in which Aber got 3 red cards. Andy Ryan? No thanks. I'd much rather try to get someone like Jack Aitchison on loan from Septic.
  19. Some tasty prices for first scorer and anytime scorer at Firhill: First scorer price first then anytime scorer Gary MacKenzie 40/1, 16/1 Gregor Buchanan 50/1, 20/1 Ian McShane 25/1, 10/1 (free kicks and penalties?) Stephen McGinn 33/1, 12/1 (penalties?)
  20. I think she sat at the front of W3 for the TNS cup game last season, that's the first time I've been anywhere near her. At one point the steward supervisor had to tell her to belt up such was the level of vitriol - I really feel for anyone sitting close to that all season.
  21. BetFred now have prices listed on oddschecker.com along with BetVictor who own McBookie. 4/1 with BetFred. Haud me back.
  22. Well they were busy shouting from the rooftops at one point last season that they had a young left back that Liverpool were watching and how they wouldn't accept less that £750k so maybe he's ready to become a regular. Can't remember his name, Tony Gallagher rings a bell but that might not be right.
