  1. We won one at hospitality back in December and handed it to the first person in the first pub we went into. None of the 6 of us wanted the burden of it. Plus, it used to be that you could make out signatures based on a bit of guesswork. All the squads signatures are now nondescript squiggles with their squad numbers beneath them. Still had a time figuring out who half of them were even based on squad numbers!
  2. No he didn't. He was pish as well! The fans weren't booing Reilly, they were booing Teale's ludicrous decision to replace an injured centre-half with Reilly.
  3. It wouldn't. Regardless of the result on Monday, having seen this sorry shower all season, there's no reason to have faith (which I've always has in SMFC) that they could even pick up 11 points between now and the end of the season, much less 11 more than our nearest rivals, Face facts, at least 75% of this team don't want to be here and are simply seeing their time out before departure for pastures new. I have always had faith, but why KTF in a bunch of people who have no desire to play, fight and scrap for our club?
  4. Yeah, a lot of his signings weren't great, granted. But he left us in a better state than he found us and in a better state than any St. Mirren manager in your lifetime or mine. He wasn't without his faults but I challenge you to find a better manager at our club in the past 15-20 years. It was widely accepted in the summer that the midfield was generally not needing touched, even with the loss of McGowan and the termination of Harkins. Everyone, but everyone pinpointed that we needed at least two centre half and one striker as an absolute priority and the rest could be filled in as and when they were needed. This didn't happen adequately. Not even close. Danny Lennon didn't f**k us up, he left a decent enough infrastructure where his management was getting decent and consistent performances out of Naismith, Kelly, McLean and McGinn....four of our own products, and a solid base built around good attacking options. We HAD to replace our aging and (historically - though not for us granted) injury-prone 35 year old centre forward and our stand-in holding midfielder at centre half (plus another as cover). That didn't really happen. The focus was mainly on full-backs, wingers and attack midfielders. None of that was Danny Lennon's fault, was it? We did sign Callum Ball, but that really shoudn't have been the end of our search for a goalscorer, should it?
  5. I don't think it's really up for debate that Jamie MacDonald is a better keeper than Ridgers, given that MacDonald reduced him to benchwarmer at Hearts for long enough. I don't rate Ridgers, not one little bit. He may be a decent shot stopper, but then I've never understood this sort of praise for a goalie. If you aren't at least good at stopping shots, then you really shouldn't be a goalkeeper.
  6. Who is Danny's assistant anyway? He seems to have parted in rather acrimonious circumstances with his last two...
  7. Had he managed to stay fit for 3 or 4 games on the spin at any point, I'd probably have given it to big Isaac. He's never had a bad game for us as far as I recall, just such a shame his body seems to be made of the glass they use for strip lighting.
  8. Those 96/97 kits are two of my favourites. Very different looking and will always be fondly remembered as the first time I supported Saints and actually had fun doing so, given that we were relatively decent that season, think we finished a good fourth under Fitzy. I think of those kits and I always recall Yardley and Junior in them.
  9. I bought the black away strip (with the VW Ingram sponsor), brand new for £55 a few years back. Absolutely no regrets (though it is a nipple ripper!) My favourite eBay saints purchase was the AC Milan style kit made by Core from 1994/95, bought for £4 and came from Washington DC strangely enough. Absolute bonus was that it came in it's original polythene bag, it had never even been opened, much less worn!
  10. Yup. Why have a pop when you're leaving? Shut the f**k up, get your head down and go. To England preferably.
  11. That being said, Marwood and Arquin would be pressing hard for a first team slot.
  12. I'd say a few could be candidates had it not been for the likes of Alex Bone, Jens Paeslack, Jim Gardiner, Kevin Twaddle, Lee Sharp, Klaus Dietrich or any of the other endless procession of folk we've forgot betweenv mid 90 and early 2000s. As bad as this bunch of shite are, I'd still fancy them against John Coughlins team of abominations.
  13. Stephen McGinn was never deemed not good enough for us though. He was another who was allegedly sold under duress for absolute peanuts. Paul McGinn should never have been let go in the first place either.
  14. SG and the board began to lose my support the day of that infamous meeting on the main stand where he recommended sucking Sevco boaby. then when anyone had the audacity to claim otherwise, we're shot disparaging looks by the lot of them. Even getting around 50% of the fans onside. I walked out the ground that night a much more cynical fan. Couldn't quote believe what I'd heard and what others had accepted from them.
  15. I don't really fancy going to any of the remaining games this season. Not because I have given up or don't love the club, more that I don't have any notion of seeing these sorry wasters don a St. Mirren shirt again, it's an affront to allow this shite to continue to represent the club. Why should we continue lending our support to a bunch of wasters who clearly don't give a toss about the situation? They'll be gone in the summer, I'll be back then.
  16. Why not Eddie Wolecki? Works wonders with Glasgow City ladies every season, even getting them to latter stages of Women's Champions League on a few occasions against far better paid opposition.
  17. Yeah. Just so I can see how angry I can actually get.
  18. Would be nice to see big Yoann breaking into a jog once in a while. Or even a brisk walk...
  19. Gregg Wylde coming on! Here comes the passion we need!!!! Oh....wait, he's another spineless bass!
  20. That third goal actually made me laugh, such was the ineptitude on display.
