Oh look, a promising thread on BAWA being utterly derailed by twattery. Yeah, I was surprised as well. Anyway, some quite remarkable lows and highs this decade. 2010 saw two of them within the space of a few days: losing that LC final, followed by pumping Celtic a few days later. Those few days were supporting St Mirren FC in microcosm. The decade has been dominated by relegation battles, almost regardless of which division we've been in. But those struggles make the glorious bits even more better. Lows: series of poor managerial appointments. No need to list them, we all know what's gone on, but top of the list is the failure to replace Danny Lennon with a decent manager, which sparked a chain of events that we've barely recovered from to this day. Highs: League Cup Win, 2017/18, and the Great Escape. I'm not going to include last season as it was basically f**king agony and those playoffs gave me high blood pressure. Also want to mention W7 as a high. They've raised the quality and quantity of our support and it's marvellous. I tell you what, though: we've not had a boring season this decade. We've always got something to play for. I'm getting old, but a couple of seasons of top-flight mid-table mediocrity would be nice. 😜

I can't remember the last time a genuine leak came out. For most of us, the first time we'd even heard of Obika, Durmus, Morias, and others, was when they were being announced. So I wouldn't worry too much. It strikes me that Goodwin will be very aware of the deficiencies in the squad, so I'm sure everything possible is being done.

I think the issue isn't so whether one person's opinion is more or less valid than anyone else's; its more a case that some people come across as utter cunts while expressing those opinions. Using an internet forum to take a pop at a young lad who played a lot of games out of position for us last season when we were desperate is snide as f**k. But, y'know, some people are just dicks, aren't they?

Exactly. It's a huge amount to us. Even if we blew it all on someone like Mihai, it basically boils down to a straight swap between a great goalie on a five-month contract or a great centre-half on a 3.5 year deal (probably. maybe 2.5 years.) It's the definition of a no-brainer.

300k for a guy leaving in five months? Bite their f**king hand off and reinvest it in the squad. He's good, obviously, but that's a lot of cash to us and we do need the strengthen in January. My preference would be for wide players and a fit centre half, especially if we're going 4-4-2 now. Or just Mihai Popescu.

With all that in mind, all roads surely lead to recalling Bairdy, with the benefit he's been playing competitive football (in a relegation battle, no less) instead of kicking his heels on our bench. Given Morton are able to get emergency loans, and we can't, let them worry about replacing him. f**k it, we could send them one of our younger CHs if they really need it.

I can see the sense in it if he's ok at LB and if the club happens to know that Waters is heading back to Killie. It would also give us a left back for Killie games. Presumably he's a free agent so could be signed any time, as opposed to waiting for the window?

I'd never deliberately agree with LPM, but I'm with him on this one. If he puts in some stunning performances in training and bounce games, then happy to be corrected, but I really can't see this one panning out. We'll just be helping him out while he looks for a deal elsewhere.
