Div's Board V. Old Guestbook (r.i.p)

Have to say that I was pretty pissed off when the good old GB went under. After years of reading it only on the net, I thought that Saints discussion may disappear. However, after a few months on this messageboard, I think it's even better than the old GB;

1. Number of people on it seems to be increasing steadily as time goes by.

2. There's not too many twats.

3. Having threads makes it easier to read than the old GB allows for better discussion.

Anyone agree? The old GB was a bit of an institution but I think this board has moved Saints on the net a bit further forward.

Sorry for being a bit sad but I just found an old link to the GB and it got me thinking!

It's true, I now use this board far more than the old SOL Gb, although it's still on the go. The Dead Coat twat just about killed the GB off and now this place gets far more traffic than the Gb - and also, incidentally, than the Fishel site forum, which is partly why I also prefer it to that site too. The only thing that bugs me about this thing still is the number of aliases.

No, Karin, of course not. That's just my general impression from checking both sites almost every day - this site certainly outdoes the official forum in terms of volume of postings, and there's therefore more to read. Perhaps the official forum gets more hits ?

I preferred the SOL GB, but this is really good. Probably better, actually, but I enjoyed the GB. Still do.

Saints Online Guestbook has improved IMO since the past week. Less nonsense.

totally agree. The old guestbook could turn into a chat about paisley pubs etc. and other things - fine but better in 'general nonsense'.

Yep, the guestbook turned into something completely different. A normal guestbook is usually the place for wee one-liners. The Saints Online guestbook took on a life of its own - total mayhem sometimes but great fun none the less. However it's outlived its usefulness and this board is now the place to be.

Thanks for the support - the board has certainly grown beyond all expectations and for that I thank everyone - yes - even the Falkirk fans
