faraway saint
India 106/1 at lunch. 177/3 at tea. Hungry lot them Indians.....................must be running away from them cowboys.
Bud the Baker
Close of play 259/4 off 90 overs. Two wickets in the first three overs after lunch and one in the first over after tea tend to suggest carelessness from India's batsmen, unless England can strike early tomorrow (with the new ball still only 9 overs old) it could be a long day in the field and a big Indian score. Once again the "sameness" of England's bowling attack has been exposed! Edited July 9, 2014 by Bud the Baker

TopCat
Vijay out LBW to Broad on 146. Ironic given that it wasn't out and it would have been overturned on an appeal to the DRS (Decision Review System) but India refuse to use the technology during test matches. India currently 338-5, Dhoni is on 79.
TopCat
Been quite an afternoon. India lost 4 wickets for something like 5 runs and went 340 odd for 9. The final partnership of two tail enders is now making a heroic last stand and India are 379-9.
Bud the Baker
The bulk of the Indian wickets have fallen just after the resumption of play to poorish shots - the 400 or so runs (just passed it as I'm typing) that they're likely to get in their first Innings is about par for the pitch & conditions. Cook's performance as Captain is again unimpressive and he'll have to get rid of any frustration at India's 10th wicket stand before he comes out to bat. Can't see England winning with that bowling attack so they've got to be looking to bat for the best part of two days when they do get in - Dhoni has a reputation of being over cautious as a Test Captain but if I was him I'd go for it - two or three quick wickets and there'll be consternation in the England dressing room. ***************** Turning into a bit of embarrassment for England as both batsmen go past 50 (Shami for the first time in First Class cricket). The new ball is due now but won't be needed as Ali takes the final wicket with India 457 all out. 10 minutes till Cook time! ***************** Cook out for 5. Bud the Baker
Still a batsman's track - a draw's the most likely outcome unless India can get England in on a deteriorating surface on the last day.

Hope you're right. This England lot will either get a comfortable draw or get spun out for a hundred. Need some new blood. How is Freddie looking? FTOF
Anderson and Root carving out a sterling effort in the last partnership. Jimmy Anderson has broken his batting record and still adding to it. India's total cancelled out and England lead by 13. World record last wicket partnership. RickMcD
Arse biscuits. Not too sure what that means but what a surprise in the cricket. Fantastic from both of them. Got draw written all over it now.

TopCat
Early wicket for Broad, India 173-4. Expect the Indians just to play this out for a draw now, keep England in the field for as long as possible. Knacker their bowlers before the Lords test, which starts on Thursday.
