RickMcD
Courtesy of yesterday's Mail On Sunday. 'The Angry Raisins'. A Japanese misinterpretation of Steinbeck's 'The Grapes of Wrath'. Maybe it's apocryphal but I hadn't heard it before.

faraway saint
That's OK. You make us laugh. Unintentionally, of course. Alas, the same can't be said for you......................
faraway saint
It's good to know that I didn't unintentionally make you laugh as it obviously wasn't my intention. Obvious Thread for that comment, I think. You've been taking lessons....................money well spent.

Maybe it's apocryphal but I hadn't heard it before. On a related note, I remember years ago going to a reading by Saints supporting author Chris Brookmyre. One of his books had involved a guy getting stuck alone on an island and a guy in Asia translating the book had some difficulty understanding what was meant by the line "Worst of all for a Hibee, he was marooned". erskinebud
The Sixth Sense had it's title translated to "He's A Ghost" in China. Not much point going to see it there then!
