Murray & William lose 2-1 against the top seeds.

They both played ok but the experience and class of the other pair was too much.

It's been a blast, a long way for Murray to get anywhere back even close to his best I'm afraid.

He knows that himself though, hence why he opted for doubles. He won’t return to singles until/unless he genuinely believes he can challenge for titles again.

I know that's why he choose doubles but the problem is he's not going to get much court time by losing so it'll be a tournament that's not a slam where he will, IMO, return to singles. (Only 3 sets maximum)

That's when he'll know where he really is.

Cheers for that, good read. It’s a long road but it would be great to see him return to singles competitively. If not, I hope he sticks at doubles for a while. As he said it’s great just to be on tour and get back chatting with the players you’ve toured alongside for a long time, and presuming he can’t get back to where he was in singles, doubles gives him that option to add some more trophies.

Interesting to read he asked Barty and Mladenovic for the Mixed Doubles. Mladenovic has been a force on the Women’s Doubles circuit for a while (and she isn’t a bad singles player by any means either), if he could work around her strengths they may have had a decent chance of winning it.

Two cracking matches in store at Wimbledon today.

Djokovic v Bautista Agut, a Spaniard who's been playing well for over a year now and is no mug.

3-1 to Djokovic.

Federer v Nadal........................well, two of the best players who have ever lifted a tennis bat, could be a classic.

3-2 Federer.

Djokovic wins 3-1....................well blow me down.

Next up, two players who have done it all, should be a classic. :happyclapper

I’ll say Federer to take it 3-1.

Correct.

Federer, year after year, defies logic as a 37 year old should not be thumping everybody who he plays.

Tomorrows final will be a cracker.

Today Halep might upset the odds against Williams.

3 sets, could go any way.

Any particular Williams, can Halep choose which one to play ? :byebye
