faraway saint Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 All kicking off in Israel today. Lots of Palestinian people shot during particularly nasty riots. Hard to see an answer to this, even in the TV report you could fell the hatred. Quote
whydowebother Posted May 14, 2018 Report Posted May 14, 2018 For as far back as I remember, the Middle East has always been a war zone.I think it with always continue to be that way.Sad state of affairs. Quote
Deekthebuddie Posted May 16, 2018 Report Posted May 16, 2018 Middle east in turmoil, what's New? Middle eastern countries have been fighting since time began and will probably remain that way as long as there are people still there or with an interest in it Quote
DougJamie Posted May 16, 2018 Report Posted May 16, 2018 Maybe if , and its a massive if, the US backed off, we might get a fairer situation and a hopeful resolve ................ Quote

The Americans count Assad as a major risk to the petrodollar (their real reason for aiming to oust him). They won’t rest until he’s gone. Quote

I get your argument but the Russians seem to have their feet under the table in Syria for now. Quote

I’m thankful for that. Without Russian/Iranian intervention, Syria would have been left directly in the hands of radical Islamists. Quote

At least the Syrian people are safer now than they would be if that superpower was the Americans. The current situation in Libya is the perfect example of the shit “Western-led intervention” leaves you in. The terrorist factions fighting for power there now wouldn’t have stood a chance against the Gaddafi leadership. Quote
St.Ricky Posted February 12, 2019 Report Posted February 12, 2019 No argument from me on that. I'm not one for empires whatever they are built on be it political dogma, religious dogma, military power or economic power. Quote
