Tomorrow night 11/3/2020 Man City v Arsenal is live on Sky TV.

Whilst over on BT you can watch live Champions league games including Liverpool v Athletico Madrid.

I thought European leagues weren't allowed to televise live top league games when champions league games were on?

Wasn't our game against Hearts originally scheduled for live tv?

That rule got abolished a few seasons ago, There was an uproar when sky broadcast the merseyside derby during champion's league games. Can't remember how they got round it

I think it is then up to the broadcaster if they want to show it again live if the game has been postponed

I understand that the broadcaster pays a penalty. Apparently St. Mirren TV is only providing audio coverage of tomorrow's match so as not to contravene the rule.

The English leagues and Sky can afford the fines. Sky must see it as worth it financially, they’ll make more than they’ll pay up on the fines from showing these games.

They won’t make the same money showing a Scottish game so we just get ignored. Until the fines increase massively Sky will continue to break the rules for their own benefit.

ETA: It also hurts BT’s viewing figures which is why Sky also do it.

Money talks and the TV viewers rule the roost.

That's almost a blessing as I'll not bother listening to the Chuckle Brothers and watch some other football.
