It's his "go to" comment, ignore him.  We sold Mooney for a decent fee, nothing to suggest, as you say, with a year on Freckletons contract, he'll go for pennies. 

Not directly related but it shows we've got good people on our board.....  Congratulations to St Mirren Football Club Directors Paul McNeill and Jim Irvine who have been awarded MBEs.  The pair, who have been on the Club board as SMiSA representatives since 2022 and 2023 respectively, were named in the New Year Honours and have today collected their medals.  Paul has been recognised for services to Young People with Dyslexia, while Jim has been honoured for services to People Living with Epidermolysis Bullosa.

If they are moving to a player trading model then why would they sell him cheap, the whole point of it is to take younger players, develop them and then sell on for a profit, rinse and repeat hopefully improving the squad at the same time by attracting better as we go. He has a full year to run on his contract (not sure if we have another year extension clause) so no need to sell cheap. Probably be an undisclosed fee
