      The majority shareholding in the club was up for sale for 7 years! Eventually the shareholding was purchased by Gordon Scott and SMiSA in July 2016 with almost 1300 supporters contributing to the successful bid.

      This forum is now really just an archive of some of the threads that took place in that 7 year period.  ps; Anyone mentions the Argies they get banned.

      Had a great night at the Dunfermline Carnegie Hall experiencing The Vintage Explosion last night.  Advancing Tinnitus means I pick & choose gigs carefully these days to preserve what's left of my hearing and this was a really good choice. I heard about them about 3 years ago via Benny Gallagher's Facebook page and made a note that i had to get to a gig to hear them and we got tickets prompted by HSS' revue a few months ago (thanks for that) .  Lots of reasons why I didn't get round to it sooner but I wish I'd ignored them.  Going to get tickets to see them again soon real soon. Willie Hitchell is one of the top 5 singers i have heard live, and i'm my 50th year of hearing live music.  The way he can sing those high notes so strongly is, frankly, amazing.   A lot of the crowd had probably seen them before but for my wife and I it was a first. A little bit cut short because the Carnegie has a strict 10:30 curfew and there was a lengthy interruption when some old dear took ill and the band had to leave the stage.  It must be weird for a relatively young band to play to such an old audience, at 66 I'd say I as in the middle of the age range though there were a fair few 30s and under there. The energy, obvious enjoyment of the band and the brilliance of the performance were truly memorable, you just need to get out to see them if you get the chance.
