  1. When Peter Crouch was asked what he would be if he hadn’t been a professional footballer, he replied, “A virgin.” Better dust down your footie boots.
  2. Ta for the updates. All sounds very positive.
  3. First team to wear the black and white stripes.
  4. Any Buddie else been humming/whistling the Obika/tequila song all morning with a big grin on their face? Another great effort from W7 yesterday.
  5. Been a lot of focus on Flynn’s handball, but was there not a good shout for a handball at the other end soon after it? I was sitting miles away, so not sure.
  6. First chance I’ve had to look at the forum since full time. Travelled through today with two Dons fans who were very confident of a win. I’ve had to rein it in on the journey back to Fife and be a magnanimous gentleman in victory, even although I was buzzing. They’ve just left to head back north after a wee feed and my son and I have danced around the kitchen like numpties. COYS!!!! That was an awesome display today, a true team performance. Goodie has them fighting, a well drilled unit with quality throughout the team. No failures in the side. We could’ve scored 4 or 5 today, sitting tight and hitting with pace and skill on the break. Was a good time to play Aberdeen, but we were well worth our victory. The transformation in the past 2 weeks has been tremendous. Well done Jim and the lads. Starting to look forward to this season with some cautious optimism.
  7. Excellent half and well deserved lead. Worried we’re we’re sitting a wee bit deep last 10. Next goal is massive. Who’d have predicted this performance a couple of weeks ago? Really heavy pitch on main stand side. Hope the pitch holds out. COYS
  8. Jamie Redknapp just said he’s been the best player on the park and totally running the midfield. His goal was superb. Great to see Meatball doing the business down there.
  9. Welcome back Kyle. A flying machine that can change games for us. Superb signing. Great opportunity for Waters too. Hopefully he grabs it. Good luck to both. Squad definitely looking better now. COYS
  10. Chuffed for the big guy. Almost like a new signing. Good news for Cody and the team.
  11. Kind of wish these things didn’t go public to alert other teams, but would be tremendous to get Kyle back. He’s a real talent and can change games. Fingers crossed.
  12. Good interview from the gaffer today. Gutted, but rightly full of positivity at the same time. I’m sure he will be channelling this to the players. Although we got beat, we should be going into the Aberdeen game with more belief than a week ago.
  13. Sickener, but encouraging, if a 1-0 defeat can be.
  14. A draw would be fantastic, with some of the new boys getting to know their teammates and starting to build their match fitness. We are miles behind in our preparation, but we need to be patient; it’s a long season and Hibs away is a tough opener. They’re missing a few players today and we have the best keeper in the league, so hopefully we can catch them cold, but big ask. COYS anyway!!
  15. I know as discussed on the forum before that YouTube clips of players can be misleading, but this guy does look like he could do the business for us. All the best with the Buddies bigman.
  16. That’s more like it. Looks an exciting signing out of nowhere. Hopefully the start of a wee flurry of signings this week. Welcome to Paisley Ilkay.
  17. Feel for the lad. He seems to have a great attitude and I’m sure he was well up for the start of the season, even with our depleted squad. Hopefully he gets back sooner rather than later. Keep the chin up bigman.
  18. Unfortunately agree with this, but only for the right price. He’s only been here half a season, so hard to compare him with great Saints keepers from the past, especially with the change in the back pass rule, but I think he’s the best I’ve seen, including Thompson and Money, who were my heroes when I was a wee lad.
  19. An early goal should do the trick. The longer we go in these games without scoring, the more we panic and the more the lower league team’s confidence grows. Really hope Mullen scores tonight. His confidence looks down, like a lot of the team, but when he’s in the mood he can win us games with his finishing. Tonight is about trying to improve confidence, fitness and momentum. 3-0 Saints
  20. Apart from goalkeepers, we are not strong enough in defence, midfield or up top. Goodie will know that and so should our BOD. I’m still recovering from the excitement of thinking we had Kyle McAllister back and on the bench for us today. Hopefully we see him back for real with some other quality arrivals.
  21. I think we all agree that Goodie has come in to a club in disarray due to the shambles with Kearney’s departure, whoever’s to blame. With the greatest respect to EK, you would expect us to get a win today and our manager needs to carry some of the responsibility, as well as the players. We won’t know the full picture of the trouble we are in until the end of the transfer window, but it’s been a really worrying start and the first few league games look ominous at the moment. Was genuinely optimistic after the playoff game survival, seeing how we could strengthen and move on with Kearney, but the wheels seem to come off and the squad looks horrendous. I’m shocked to hear some of the players were allegedly smirking on the way off the park, especially with a character like Goodwin in charge. If he gets wind of it I’m sure heads will roll. It feels like the club is going backwards at the moment, so we need to hope that we can get some quality in like we did in January and things start to improve with patience. It’s seems a long way off at the moment.
