  1. Just spotted someone in the crowd watching Murray match with a Saints phone case. Anyone recognise this Buddie??
  2. Excellent signing, especially with a good preseason in him. Rather we had him than Accies. Technically gifted and can create and score goals. We were sat right in line with the bugger’s volley in the final at Fir Park. Welcome and good luck Tony.
  3. Hope for their sake that he’s good at taking penalties.
  4. Spot on. Sums everything up really well in my opinion.
  5. We were lucky to get Popescu in the first place due to the turmoil his club were in, although it was good business to land him. Can only assume it’s budget that’s the stumbling block; he’s been great for us and I’m sure we were desperate to keep him. Hopefully we can go down the same route that landed Muzek , Popescu and Hladky to uncover some more gems this season. Unfortunately the standard of technical ability of our average Scottish players isn’t great, although there are always exceptions. Hladky looks more comfortable with his ball at his feet than some of our homegrown outfield players. Our business when we got shot of Stubbs was excellent, so although it looks like we’ve lost Mihai, I’m reasonably optimistic.
  6. Sad and a bit worrying that it’s ended up like this. Was optimistic about Kearney giving us a bit of stability this season, but he’s gone and that’s that. Go and get Goodie and an experienced assistant sharpish.
  7. Has been in my mind too since the Kearney rumours started; who the manager is can sway players signing or not. Be gutted if we missed out on him.
  8. It’s never straightforward stability with us. Jack last summer, now this. Suppose none of us know what exactly is going on, but got a bad feeling there’s no smoke without fire here. Oran needed time to sort out the total mess our team was in and against the odds, managed to keep us up. It wasn’t immediate, but the eventual turnaround was brilliant. He seems popular with the players and the fans. He handles himself really well too and must’ve learned a lot last season. Read an interview with Simeon Jackson this morning talking Oran up, saying he had firm plans for the team next season and that we’d be nuts to let him go. Was interested and optimistic about him having a whole summer window and a full season to take us forward. Will be disappointed if he goes, but like other Buds have mentioned, it needs to get sorted pronto. It will most likely take a new manager time to find his feet. If Oran goes we could do worse than Goodie with an experienced assistant. At least our latest drama has stopped people moaning about the new strips for a bit.
  9. Thank fek we didn’t have VAR watching Hladky in the shootout against the Arabs. Scotland did a Scotland tonight unfortunately. Poor reffing, poor game management by the players and poor management decisions re changes.
  10. Torfason!! Quality. Wit a player. Home kit is growing on me. Think it will look good on the pitch.
  11. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2019/06/st-mirren-19-20-home-away-kits.html Slightly better pictures in this. Apologies if already posted.
  12. Only able to catch second half, but Taylor looked excellent. Just what Scotland need, another left back.
  13. Would’ve been good to get him back. Don’t think we saw the best of him due to injury, but international experience, composed and quick. Good luck to him anyway and we move on.
  14. Look forward to seeing that. Most gifted player in my lifetime in my opinion, but a total heedcase. What he could do with a football, his speed, the vision he had, his passing and the goals he scored were all unbelievable. He also got lumps kicked out of him every game, especially compared to players nowadays. Would have achieved even more if he hadn’t gone off the rails. Too young to know enough of Pele to be fair.
  15. Yeh, noticed this tonight. Apparently they have a bit of cash behind them. Suggesting that some Championship sides are tracking him too. He’s been phenomenal for us since he arrived, so it’s inevitable that he’ll create interest from other clubs. Good that we’ve got him signed for next season, but won’t be surprised if he gets some good offers.
  16. Good to hear from you Davie. Couldn’t get a ticket for me and the wee lad for tomorrow, but thankfully sorted for Sunday. Playing footie tomorrow night, so hopefully come off the pitch to hear we’ve done the business. Shout on the boys from me and fingers crossed for a good result. Tell Mickey I said hello.
  17. The Arabs I’ve spoken to through here are very confident. They’ve definitely got themselves as favourites and giving it all the chat about being too big a club for the championship. Let them think that. My son’s bricking it though because he’ll be in for dogs abuse at school if they relegate us. What have I inflicted on him? The same thing his grandad inflicted on me and his great grandad inflicted on his grandad I suppose. Will be sweet on several levels if we come out victorious on Sunday. COYS!!!!
  18. My Arab mate was telling me that he heard Utd fans were registering with Glasgow/Paisley postcodes to buy tickets in home sections. Hope it’s a windup. Does seem a total shambles over the past day or two.
  19. Do we know the ticket situation for Thursday yet? How many we are getting. Is it all ticket??
  20. I’ve been unable to log in for over a year, since my old email became defunct and tried to reregister with my new one . Won’t let me because my name and address are registered to old email. Gave up about a year ago and get a mate to get them through her account. It’s a nightmare.
  21. Killie 2 the Rangers1 Killie clinch 3rd from Aberdeen. Great achievement by Clarke on Killie’s budget and he gets the last word over that numpty Gerrard.
  22. The way I saw it too. Concerning how easily Dundee were stroking the ball about in midfield with loads of time to pick their passes. Their forwards were dropping in and our defence were in two minds whether to follow them. It’s hard to criticise Kearny, especially since the split; he’s engineered some great results and consistency, but I think we are a bit negative with our tactics at times. Suppose we’ll be trying to keep it tight on Thursday night though. We were far from our best yesterday, but we can’t freeze against Utd like we did in the first half at Dens. Nervous week ahead, but getting through the playoffs would be absolutely amazing and we’ve got the team to do it.
  23. Just got home after a few beers. Strange game today. Atmosphere was great. Had a few ups and downs, but Accies, or bloody St Johnstone took a bit of the drama out of it due to when their goals went in. Thought we were poor 11 v 11. Their forwards were dropping in the hole unmarked and their midfield were running the game. No surprise when they went ahead. Looked a correct red for them from where we were sitting. Second half was much better. Big Cody did the business and should start Thursday. Thought today was too little too late, but kept the momentum going and the fight back deserves credit . Disappointing that St Johnstone didn’t help us out today, but we only have ourselves to blame. Thought the ref did us a big favour not sending off Popescu. He tripped a Dundee player charging through the middle and was already on a yellow. Strange old day, but the team delivered another result and the fans were tremendous.
