I'm not a lawyer either, but I am sure, lying for financial gain falls within the boundaries of fraud.
Hopefully, one of the forum's legal eagles will let us know.

Surely trying to secure the funding in the way they are alleged to have done so, is tantamount to fraud?

Not being a lawyer I can't say but I certainly look forward to whatever response comes from these guys.
As I recall, at the AGM when AW first brought it up, one of the Kibble guys answered AW's criticism, saying something along the lines of "what does it matter, it didn't reach the next stage". That was met by a huge collective groan - I guess everyone in the room knew it was the alleged misleading application that was important - not whether it was successful or not.

This isn't a dispute over "a small piece of land", Bazil, but your attempt to deflect is unsurprising.
So let's get back to the point: This thread is about Kibble employees who are directors of St.Mirren Football Club being accused of not acting in the best interests of the club and the shareholders.
This is about accusations of a lack of openness and transparency when an application for a £2.65 million grant has the name of the St.Mirren charity as a joint applicant with the Kibble while the charity knew nothing about it.
Furthermore, according to AW, the two Kibble employees did not declare their plans to build on St. Mirren owned land to St Mirren SMISA board members. At the club's AGM it was stated to the shareholders that the land concerned was not St.Mirren owned land. AW claims otherwise and, if he's right, the implication is that shareholders were lied to.
Smisa members and our supporters need to know what is going on at board room level and these accusations need to be answered openly and honestly.

You are right, AW is giving just one side of a story. His.
The allegations made are not trivial & shouldn't/can't be brushed under the carpet.

So maybe, just maybe, the last great club that fell on it's arse was just a few miles up the road who's fans never asked enough questions.....other than being a SMiSA member and having a few original shares, pre-SMiSA, I have no real skin in the game but, f**k me, to not at least ask questions is bat-shit crazy.
I love the fact that we are top six and maybe heading for Europe (I've done all that before right enough) but would swap all of that for survival, we nearly lost all of that before. I'm not for a second suggesting that that's where we are but to not ask questions, especially when we are apparently fan owned, is beyond due diligence. I don't know AW personally but I've been around the club for a long time and don't believe he'd do anything deliberately to harm St Mirren.
The "nothing to see here" argument falls on it's fat arse every time and everything, in good business, is challenged every time....it's why it works.
Let it play out and hopefully the truth will out.

A piece in the daily record popped up on my facebook that suggests, John Needham has ideas for SMISA' money.
"St Mirren chairman John Needham is urging SMiSA members to stick with the club and continue to shape change from within.
And the Buddies boss is calling on the majority shareholder supporters’ association to adapt and look at new ways of backing the Saints financially as the club continues to battle on after a £1.6 million hit."
Any ideas on what his vision of
"New ways of backing Saints financially" are?

Hi mate, there's plenty in Dundee to keep you and your mates busy.
I'm sure your son will know many of the pubs on the Perth Road, frequented by students and decent prices.
Nearer the city centre, not sure where you'll be based, there's quite a few.
As @HSS mentioned, the Club Bar is decent, Old Banks bar is usually good with "mature" customers.
Trades House is also quite good, DrafFens has good cocktails and a wee bit further away is the Arctic bar, old fashioned, no frills but ok for a pint or two.
    Enjoy.

I have read this forum for years (usually only when we win) without ever setting up an account, however, I really feel compelled to pitch in on this one.
I had taken decision long ago to stop attending matches against the old firm as I find the experience so unpleasant but added the games to my family season ticket this season as a show of solidarity for the decision to keep three stands.
Sunday’s events reaffirmed for me why I can’t attend these matches. On my way into the family stand, I was treated with contempt and aggression after pre-emptively offering up my gym bag for searching – to the extent that I was ordered to remove a pair of socks that the security person suspected was a pyrotechnic device. In the family stand!
I then enter the stadium to find no fewer than seven police officers lounging around under the stand eating pies and drinking hot beverages and then as go to take my seat find myself confronted with a sea of giant tricolours and banners across from me – apparently easier to conceal upon entry than a pair of socks. (The obligatory pyrotechnic display followed later in the match.)
I had decided not to bring my sons to this game after the last Celtic match (“why do they hate the royal family so much, dad?”) but even as an adult I would really rather not sit in my own stadium listening to incessant singing about terrorist organisations and Orange b*stards (I am a practicing Catholic, just for the record) so ended up doing something that I have never done - in over 30 years supporting the club – and left the match early.
To then discover that the Celtic supporters were able to vandalise our stadium while we pay for security to harass St Mirren supporting families and Police to stuff their faces just compounds what was a seriously displeasing episode.
I don’t know what the solution is to this – personally, I will take the games on my season ticket next season (they may be include as standard anyway) but will never again set foot in our, or any other stadium, when either of these vile, poisonous football clubs are playing.
