  1. A simple banner saying "c'moan rabuddies" would be fine provided it wasn't adapted to be a weapon or obstruct views unless some English language freak was offended by the spelling.
  2. BANNERS and/or other articles which could, or might be used as a weapon, or cause annoyance or unnecessary obstruction or offence and/or which may cause or contribute to Unacceptable Conduct are not permitted within the ground.
  3. A few peoples haircuts were obviously ruffled as the banner surfed up the terrace to avoid the stewards, some of whom actually broke into a jog to try and catch it. Someone could have fallen over or had to comb their hair. Definitely a perilous situation. The club need to be smarter and fight the right battles if they want to win the war. Someone made a bad decision here.
  4. "Fans not Criminals". This statement is in no way Political, political with a small p or religious. Neither is it offensive. It is clearly club related as rightly or wrongly some fans feel aggrieved at being singled out by the police. This attention has been aggravated by the fact the club allegedly pointed the police in their direction. Now I have no idea if W7 are plotting mayhem. I find it incredulous that they are being targeted as plausible informants in the war against crime or that specific Police officers have been tasked with monitoring their activities and following them "wherever St mirren go". Maybe they are real bad boys who are up to no good. From personal experience, I doubt it BUT To be honest that's irrelevant. The big issue here is the erosion of our basic freedoms. Criminals have a rights but it seems to me Football fans Don't. Protesting your innocence is one of the key tenets of our society. Innocent till proven guilty and all that. Okay if they had staged a "dirty protest" or climbed onto the roof of the stands to protest then someone would have to take action but they waved a wee banner and someone decided that was wrong. Who? Why? If a real bad ass criminal decided to stand outside Paisley Sheriff court with a banner saying I'm Innocent and the authorities took it off them, the civil rights movements would be up in arms and no doubt riots would follow. Just because your a football fan doesn't mean you don't have rights. Absolutely shocking decision to remove that banner IMO. It presented no danger or offence to anyone and removing it, placed fans in the vicinity in more danger than leaving it in place. Was it worth the risk?
  5. Well the morning afternoon after the night before and what a night. Apart from their song Choices, I never saw any bother with Celtic fans and the ground being full made it a great atmosphere. The performance was good and the effort and attitude was first class and the match was enjoyable. What a buzz there was about Paisley after the game and we partied in the Bull with our new found Irish Saints fans who had travelled all the way from Coleraine. What a good bunch they were. Oran has two lovely sisters and a bunch of first class mates. Anyway admittedly I had a couple of sherbets last night and my head wasn't in the best of places but somewhere bouncing about in the memory banks this morning was "A big striker's getting signed this week and will be in place for the Hamilton game". Maybe it was the guy in the kebab shop who told me this or maybe it was someone ITK but I think things are definitely looking up. Lot's more nights like that please, Oran. COYS
  6. FECKING BE QUIET I'm dreaming. A fairytale in Paisley Once upon a time Jack fecked off. Leaving Tony’s team terrified of the giants but OKy had magic beans and Oky went to BAWA land Oky used his magic Beans Chopped down the bigots beanstock and the Saints were on their way I’ll win the league or a cup said Oky and the BAWA lived happily ever after,
  7. or Fight, Fight IOBS 8513 posts since 2003 OK 8965 posts since 2006 Who's filling their hole?
  8. The big question is. Who is SMISA. My understanding is once GS is bought out, the obligation on contributions from members ceases. SMISA contributors have no stake in the club and we are in Limbo. Effectively they (whoever they are) could just say "thanks we got the club cheerio" to all the contributors because as soon as GS is paid the payments stop. No SMISA income at all after the buyout, never mind a £2 spend. Joint planning I'm not aware there has been any planing. That's what concerns me.
  9. My big fear is the uncertainty caused by SMISA. Even as a SMISA member I have no idea what the plan is when GS is bought out and who knows gets control of the club. Until this is sorted the kind of business brain we need will possibly have no interest in doing business with a club who don't know where they are going. At the time SMISA was the only game in town. It probably still is but too many unanswered questions about what happens next for my liking.
  10. I totally get where you are coming from but the majority of fans 'Probably' can't afford to do any of those things. Being an active supporter costs an absolute fortune. The club needs our support but we also need support from the club. You are obviously at a stage in your life where you have the disposable income to spare on a pastime you enjoy and expect no return from. Most younger active supporters probably organise their finances week to week and don't have the luxury more affluent supporters have to save money by buying a season ticket or any other of the luxuries you propose.. The Club owns land on a prime site next to Scotland's biggest international airport. They have to turn this into an asset to generate income if they want to survive and compete. Even if 5000 people all bought season tickets, joined the 1877, squeezed into corporate and got chauffeurs to drive them home from their spot in the carpark after drinking hospitality dry each week. St Johnstone would still be way ahead of us with their 1M start. Creative business thinking is the only thing that will narrow the financial gap between us and the big boys, not milking the fans. Getting a competitive team on the park is what we all want but at the moment it seems like. "One town, one team, one vision, nae idea how to do it." Come on the BOD get it sorted..
  11. There were a few of us, after one or two sherbets before the hearts game, singing a little ditty about our Cole. It wasn't too creative and no doubt the demon drink affected our memory of his finest moments in black and white Stripes. As you have a penchant for catchy lyrics perhaps you could come up with a more fitting chant for the big chap. "Oh ah Kpekawa Ah said, Oh ah Kpekawa Lets sing for big Nat king Ah said Oh ah Kpekawa" I'm sure a man of your considerable talent could point us in the way of more appropriate lyrics.
  12. I hear a number of private security agencies are infiltrating football grounds and supporters groups but it's got feck all to do with violence and crowd trouble. Apparently online betting across different time zones has caused a bit of grief for the bookie and there are more of their agents in the grounds looking for dodgy dudes acting suspiciously on their mobile phones than there are actually cops interested in violence. I don't know how much a Scamster in Asia can make abusing live in game betting flaws but apparently it is a lucrative business which the bookmaker doesn't condone. Maybe representatives of the William Hill and Paddy Power overseas divisions will start visiting us season ticket holders at 9am and offer us a damn sight more than the polis can.
  13. Josh Heaton is ready to prove himself as one of Alan Stubbs' best signings at St Mirren. (Daily Record, print edition) Hopefully now everyone is over their huffs. The new manager will get some value for our 75K.
  14. I'm not sure about the internal politics of the club but it has been clear something hasn't been right since JR made it clear he was leaving.. I don't imagine football is all that different from any other roles where "power plays" are made but when they are backstabbing, ruthless, decisive, failure or underhand are usually the types of words being bandied about. When he was appointed I wasn't overly excited but I was happy to back Stubbs as manager. TF billed him as the outstanding candidate but looking back now that looks like a PR cover up because all the other candidates had knocked us back. Stubbs first signings were unusual and no preseason games meant we were all in the dark as to their quality until our first match. By that time Tales from La Manga about player release had already started and talk of him doing a Terry Butcher when he put Hibs into freefall, by releasing half his team , were already causing a bit of apprehension in the support. And what about that first team selection. I never saw that coming. McPherson and Kirkpatrick in the starting lineup and no places for Cooke, King or Heaton. Fair play it all looked good even big Kpekawa looked like he might be a player that night but sadly that was the last spark of enthusiasm and effort we saw from an Alan Stubbs team. It hasn't exactly been a joy to watch after that. Dead pigeons and a Steven McGinn rally cry were the only talking points of the league cup campaign and just when it all comes good against Dumbarton the talk in the pub was already of a bust up between McGinn and Stubbs. McGinn was Dire at the Aberdeen game but so was the team. Fair do's to Stubbs you can't legislate for the individual errors but I didn't see any fight or any sign they had a plan that day. At Ibrox again it was moment of madness that put us behind but it was more of the same. The Livi game was awful and the lack of desire in the team was evident to everyone. The Ross's players v Stubbs interaction between McGinn and Smith was enough to highlight no one was playing for Stubbs. At Tyncastle Smith was fighting with Jackson during the Warm up, Players were making the usual expected individual errors and costing us goals. Rumours were rife at half time about Stubbs out by Monday and McIntyre in for the celtic game. I have no idea of the reasoning behind the leaks, Gilmours tweets or Board room agendas but this so called inside info from fans at the game maybe gives some credence to the conspiracy theory. You LPM know much more about these shenanigans than I do and you probably have your own Agenda. I don't know and don't care. What I think though is that Stubbs wasn't taking the club anywhere good and he had to go. I actually felt sorry for him in the end but tough I was glad to see the back of him. Where go now I have no idea but hopefully into a period of unity where the team turn up on a Matchday and Board room matters disappear back into the background. Unfortunately the "Whoever is appointed" must go thread will probably start 2 minutes after his appointment but hopefully not because anyone has an agenda. I hope we go back to enjoying the football
  15. The Jim McIntyre rumour was flying about Tynecastle at half time on Saturday but I never really thought it would come to anything. If the reports are true then we may be singing this a week on Friday. The first was scored by Naismith The second by Ollie Lee Another two from Naismth Left the hearts fans full of Glee No goals were scored by Saint Mirren But a flukey hearts O.G. And then arrived Jim McIntyre Bye, Bye to you Stubbsy All together now
  16. Haven't been reading what's gone on before but I will Would say effort is evident and the players we have have done much better.
  17. At least 20 buds in Ryries bar. We're on our way
  18. Today is a little bit easier than normal travelling wise and thinking I had a few minutes to waste before leaving I had a look at some thread on here about mascot racing. Got engrossed replied and realised almost too late the train was due. Fecking ran like Sammy Doonhamer And just caught the train. Apologies if you're sitting next to me today, bit sweaty. Looking forward to my first pint with my Buds at Haymarket. If the team put in the same effort today as I did running for that train. We'll be fine. COYS
  19. Ha! Ha! didn't have a clue what this post was about until I saw the article on BBC. You make some very valid Points Liv-Bud. Why is our panda not dressed properly and it does look like he's not putting in the effort required to be a winner? Poz may be right. Should we blame Darren Jackson.
  20. I actually agree with Faraway on something. This is the most worrying thing for me too. Those of us who have been to matches have seen big tall players running around unable to head a ball on target, players passing balls into areas where there are no Saints players ever going to reach them, players picking up balls and looking unsure as to where they should go or what they should do. Players don't look fit or comfortable in their positions and 50/50 tackles are non existent. I dubbed Danny Mullen, "Danny Dae something" last season but this season I have to admit he's been our best player. He certainly has put in some effort this season. I'm not sure if that's a credit to him or maybe I should just dub the rest of the team "FFS gonna dae Something" Guys show us some spirit and give us a clue you know what you're doing. Alan Stubbs - see above
  21. One of two things could happen on Saturday. I'm Dreaming Saints went to the capital city Having been playing particularly shitty Kpekawa the big centre half Had more than one gaffe And the score wasn’t very pretty. Or the preferred option Saints went down to the land of the Jambo’s They were on fire, decidedly Flambeaus They played with their hearts Destroyed the Jam Tarts Be proud of our young Paisley Rambo’s
