  1. So who "financially evaluates" him then? Hibs arent exactly gonna say Allans price would be high. I'm sure where this has happened in the past its just the cash that counts cos you can't accurately say the value of the player if there has been a swap.
  2. Apparently he's not goingto Celtic. Which is great for us because they would definitely have done a deal which included Scott Allan and less cash. I've heard from a decent source its not them so hopefully it's a pure cash deal somewhere.
  3. Like the 2 superstars they gave us last season? Hill and McCart
  4. Surely it'll happen. How can Brian rice go back to being assistant manager at ICT after agreeing terms with another club? It will just be a stand off at the moment between us and them over money.
  5. I agree. This should be the priority over anything else. That's the one facility we lost when we moved to the new stadium as we had the Caledonia stand at Love street with everything inside. I always thought the dome/tent was just there as a stop gap till we had cash to build something better and more permenant.
  6. How has he pulled the wool over anyone's eyes? What do you expect him have said.."I've just brought these guys here in January but don't worry they'll be getting punted in the summer"?
  7. If Mullen had scored 22 goals for us last season there's a good chance he'd be looking to get a better deal elsewhere as well. But he didn't. He scored 3 and is still with us. Let's not pretend that we'd rather have Mullen than Reilly just because our ego is a bit dented because Reilly didn't sign the new deal.
  8. I would suggest getting rid of the first player to score 20+ goals for us in a season for God knows how long probably isn's a great one. Especially when we're going into a better league where goal scorers are always hard to come by.
  9. Just seen that. In that case it does seem quite unlikely then. Unless by the "Over 1,800" they were meaning 3,000.
  10. This time last year on Friday would have been the 15th of June . 2 weeks between that and the 2nd is a pretty significant difference when it comes down to it. He also didn't say we were nearly at 4k. He said we are past 3k which isn't hard to believe.
  11. The excuse being "the world cup is on". What's that got to do with anything? Are we not allowed to pass opinion on anything he says until he's been in the job 6 months?
  12. Bit concerning at the lack of signings. Jack always liked to get his business done early which I think paid off for us massively. I'm not a fan of this waiting to the last minute to get players in and I'm not really buying the excuse he gave. Hope we see a bit of movement soon.
  13. We do the same early bird offer every year so I dont see why the timing would be different this year. I can see the overall increase % being close to what it is at the moment.
  14. The optimism and feel good factor around the club within the last year has been the highest its been since 05/06. Wonder what happened that year?
  15. That point is the only positive of increasing the number of teams in the league. The many negatives such as more meaningless games, tv money diluted, less opportunity for teams to win titles/be involved in title races etc all outweigh that for me. We would end up with a situation where the old firm were the only teams to ever experience winning trophies and titles. If we had 2 leagues you'd have the OF + 1 other team winning a league out of 42 teams. While its not ideal that we play the same team 4 times, its not the worst thing in the world.
  16. I'm there to see St Mirren. I couldn't give a f**k who the opposition is.
  17. He repaid us by scoring 20+ goals last season so he's doesn't owe us anything. It would just be a poor decision on his part more than anything to leave. He has had a very stop start career. He is finally at a club where it has clicked for him, we are now in the PL, you'd think he would want to give it another year at least.
  18. I really never get this arguement of expanding the league. Bigger league means more meaningless games. It also means less leagues. So less champions. The best time ever supporting St Mirren have been the 3 years we have won the 1st Division. Im sure the fans of teams who won league 1&2 would also agree. I would never swap that for finishing 11th in a 14/16/20 team league. We should be looking at it as a positive that we have such a strong 2nd tier. Not to decimate it by lumping everyone into one big league to have an absolute diddy 2nd tier full of part time teams.
  19. Juventus manage it yearly. This year they've got 3 stripes the same as us. Don't hear people greetin about that. People only ever share the good Juve ones on here as if they get it right every year.
  20. I don't see how signing a proven goalscorer at this level can be bad news. He's only not still at Hibs because he fell out with Lennon who is hardly a quiet and amiable character himself.
  21. Tbh I'm glad I don't like the top this year as it saves me 45 quid. I told myself I wasn't going to buy it this year but I know if I liked it I would have ended up buying it. Its only a top anyway ffs. They aren't going to nail it every year. Some will be good some will be bad, it's how it goes. The away top is definitely an upgrade on last years table cloth, thats the one positive I'll say.
  22. How do you know there is no need? JR said last season that he would be looking to add an additional coach this season because the work load was too much for him and James. Just because they aren't seen out on the park doesn't mean they aren't adding value. Another coach was clearly needed.
  23. We could get a sell out if we can get a team who will fill that stand. Motherwell would probably be my choice. Will fill it and we would beat them.
  24. Where you getting the 700k from? It's essentially two shells of metal on land we already own. I doubt it would be anywhere near that.
