The ONE particular section in society I’m talking about is vulnerable people who are out and about ignoring government advice.

If these people stay quarantined then it doesn’t matter if the young fcukers get it. It’s a mild illness for them. Better we build up herd immunity and get it all over with.

The destruction of the world economy will have serious consequences for the healthcare of the whole country going forward.

Likewise... our charity has about five months of reserves.
We have also had to cancel all of our major fundraisers.
Shutting down until told it is safe to reopen was a no brainer.
I have a responsibility, not only to my service users and their carers... but to my staff and volunteers.
Staff are instructed to practice social distancing or, if high risk, self isolate.
They are also on full wage for as long as we can afford it.
We are going to need them coming out of this crisis.
As a wee aside... that also includes people on zero hours contracts! You know... the much maligned and abused employment practice!
I have two people on a zero hours contract.
Their studies and employment elsewhere means they are not flexible or able to accept a working contract.
i give them shifts regularly though.
For the next twelve weeks... even if not working... they are on average earnings!
They are part of my core team and deserve no less.
Just saying... zero hours contracts are often abused.... but not always a bad thing!
 

Sad really that this forum inevitability mirrors humanity with people more passionate about possible season ticket refunds and oneupmanship, than helping each other.

I think you underestimate the public. It still kills. It would still be seen as serious.  Recovery rates is NOT a success. It's good fortune for those who do. It's the truth. It's the facts. The full picture should be out there. The numbers of confirmed cases should be the number actually infirmed at any given time. Not a grand total including those who have no longer been deemed contagious or suffering from it. I firmly believe the panic we have seen would have been less severe which may actually have reduced the interaction due to the constant surge to buy anything that isn't nailed down leaving everyone else searching for essentials.

Police called to Boots in Ayr today to control a massive queue for prescription collection. They were letting people in one in one out but as seems the norm the great British public were having none of that hence police required. Utterly unbelievable stuff. Oh and anyone making this into a political tool is an utter moron. It has hee haw to do with politics, I don't envy any politician having to deal with a crisis like this.
 
 
 
 

Yes. But it's just as important to recognise that people DO recover. All you see on the media is the adding of numbers who contract it or who unfortunately die. It's feeding the panic without showing the hope.

Ah no I remember now.
He wanted a universal payment to every citizen but he wanted all benefits stopped. He also wanted to abolish free NHS and free education,
The idea was that he wanted that universal payment to be used by people to pay for those services.
I also remember his figures being all over the place and his wafer thin knowledge being repeatedly exposed.
For some reason I have a suggested figure of £25k per person in my head
 

Local shops have had a full supply of all the essentials all the way through this panic. Might cost a few pence more but it avoids the hordes.

Was in Tesco Renfrew at 9-30 and no lavvy paper, no uncooked meat apart from steaks and only a few small bottles of milk left. 
Total lack of beers as well which I found strange since few people seem to have them in their trolleys.
Later went to the post office in Lochfield Rd and found plenty of beers      and some lavvy paper left  
I am now sorted for what goes in and out of my body for the next few weeks
