  1. What do they know that we don't?
  2. What in Arbroath?
  3. Monday morning chat in the office usually started with "did you watch Parky on Saturday night" and then the football. He was as good as you get and the best in my lifetime. RIP
  4. I forgot it almost immediately! Mind you, I'm over 70!!!!
  5. Ahem, Marshalls have been making pasta in Glasgow since before WW1. Macaroni Cheese was a childhood favourite in the 50's. Also folk used to bulk up their mince with a couple of handfuls of macaroni.
  6. The manager has pinned his faith on McMenamin. Don't think he'll be tempted.
  7. My Grampa, who was the Warden Hodges of Renfrew, often talked about the Canadian pilots based at Renfrew, as did my dad while he was still at home. From 1943 my dad was was in Fife fitting electrical gear to warships. I think there were some Yanks there by the end of the war.
  8. Once of the most influencial figures in music through the later years of the 20th Century. He "electrified" Dylan and basically created Americana, which was strange considering he was the child of a Native American(Mohawk) woman and an American Jewish Gangster and was raised by a Scots Canadian until his mid-teens. I had hinted to Celtic Connections some years ago that instead of playing tribute to The Band they should try and get the two remaing mambers (Robertson and Garth Hudson) over and get them to play at the biggest Americana showpiece in the world. Not only was he a major influence to some of the biggest names, to me he was one of the biggest names. Recommended: Live At The Academy Of Music 1971 (Both of The Rock Of Ages Concerts) all 56 tracks from Megaboon for less tha $5.
  9. He got two mentions in the paragraph?
  10. Ah, but where is he now? He turned down a new contract with us and went back to Killie last May. They didn't offer him a further contract so he is now "unattached".
  11. Never. But this is BAWA!
  12. Pre-Season you get taken off if you break a nail!
  13. I still think this could come back and bite us on the arse. 🐶
  14. The big question is - who's in between the sticks tonight?
  15. To counter this, shouldn't the club signing him (if indeed one exists) be telling their fans he's joining them? We don't have the resources to play those sort of games. Keep stum until the deal is done.
  16. Hemmings to replace our youth keeper? He's 23 and married with 2 kids!
  17. You know that how?
  18. They're not daft. We have agreed a contract which stipulates the option to buy is £250K.
  19. Aye, right. That's why the Bank of England are investigating why banks are not passing on rates to customers.
  20. Yes it's time awards were given to hard working people like Boris's hairdresser who gets a gong or the girl who worked in No 10 for a whole two years. Wonder what she did for Boris? Must have been a very Special Adviser 'cos she's become the youngest life peer ever!!!!
  21. I'm guessing FS drinks boys beer. I had a lad worked for me who said he only drank imported (?) American beer. When I asked why he said it was because it had no after taste! Why drink beer then!
  22. Was one of my first heroes at Love Street along with Ally McLeod. He played with his heart on his sleeve and his "wanders" up the park were eagerly anticipated by the fans of the day. He survived cancer and a stroke before that awful disease got him in the end. So sad.
  23. Stepped away with immediate effect followed by the Manager. This, despite a successful season. Something they didn't want to be involved in?
  24. When was the last time you saw a decent European final? I remember the ones in the 60's with the amazing Real Madrid, the 70's with Ajax and the 80's with AC Milan (full of Dutch players?). They all played to score goals, even Milan. Since then I have to admit only English sides and perhaps Bayern in the final have shown they're not scared to attack and trust their defence. Modern football is all about not conceding.
  25. Main away to Wrexham was all over the English press yesterday. Apparently for triple the wages we paid him. Google it and you will be surprised at where it was reported.
