  1. Danny knows more than anyone what position we need to strengthen most. I don't think he needs a lesson in how to "buy better". He attempted to buy players in the positions we needed (Sutton, Beattie and McPake amongst them). These players were out of our price range. It had nothing to do with how good Danny is at buying. He spotted a gem in Imrie and snatched him up instead. Great bit of business in the January window. And he only cost us £35k. Now we are sitting in a position where we could recoup that money many times over in league placing. It could even be argued that Imrie has paid for himself by indirectly contributing to the league placing.
  2. Interesting that some people can claim that £35k is far too much to spend in the transfer market (the most expensive transfer of the entire window no less) but £160k is "meaningless" at the end of the season.
  3. Danny may have just set the bar quite high now for progress to be made next season. Imagine we finish this season in 7th place. Then we would have to secure a top 6 spot next season to keep progressing, otherwise the usual suspects will deem Danny to be a failure, to have "found his level" and to have "taken us as far as he can".
  4. I am under the impression that my tenner a month is essentially money spent, rather than invested i.e. I don't expect to ever get my tenner back. And I am fine with this. In the future years, if everything is going fantastic for TTH then I guess a situation could arise where we could vote in a sort of cash back scheme but I would probably vote in favour of my share just going into the club. Whatever happens, it is a tenner a month and I can live without it without any real change in lifestyle so the risk to me and my family is minimal. I am not overly suspicious of the funders supplying the £1m to get this rolling but I would be interested to hear what kind of percentage interest they have agreed upon so we could try to get some more accurate predictions on when this loan will be paid off and what the payment structure will be e.g. is there a minimum monthly payment. The sooner the funding gap is bridged and this loan is paid off, then we will start to see what can be done with a thriving CiC.
  5. I'll agree with Napoleon Dynamite, Clerks 2 and Into The Wild. And I'll throw in 300.
  6. Both books worth reading. Not seen the films yet. Same with Kite Runner and One Day. Read the books, both great, not seen the films. Stand By Me Crash Amelie Run Lola Run Almost Famous District 9 Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Cemetery Junction are all worth a watch off the top of my head.
  7. Some of the designs on Facebook are just incredible. And the picture quality looks good enough to get blown up to poster size. The club really should think about getting a few of these put up around the stadium. Some of the generic ones about the club could be permanent and the player ones updated each season. Is Campbell Kennedy the man at the club to be approached?
  8. It is all explained quite clearly here.........
  9. I went to the Aberdeen vs ICT game last night and a lot of the Dons fans in the south stand were actually backing McGhee and shouting at the ref for giving him a hard time when he got a bit angry at the penalty decision. They were even blaming the ref for trying to get McGhee sacked. Short memories! ICT played like I remember us playing the year we got promoted. They were by no means great but did have a few decent individual performances in Esson and Hayes which kept them in the game. Butchers antics at full time are exactly what I would like in a manager. He pissed off the Dons fans hugely with his badge kissing and dancing round the pitch infront of the Dick Donald stand. Was amusing to watch.
  10. See, isn't the world a much better place now? Cheers Div. My OCD appreciates it ;)
  11. I hate the way that the time of a particular post is displayed. It looks like it should be using the 24hr clock with the preceding '0' of posts made before 10 o'clock but then it specifies AM or PM. Make your mind up Div....it is either 19:09 or 7:09 PM. It is not 07:09 PM. Personally I would prefer use of the 24hr clock format.
  12. Warblade (PC) Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (N64) Goldeneye (N64) MarioKart (SNES) Gregory's Clock (ZX Spectrum)
  13. Another great performance by Billy. Chased everything and never gave up. If only the rest of the team put in the same shift we would have breezed through Motherwell.
  14. "One Saints in Scotland, There's only one Saints in Scotland One Saints in Scoootland (andoneinghana) There's only one Saints in Scotland"
  15. Another outstanding performance from the big man against the supposed "champions". Very happy that he is a Buddie for another 2 years
  16. Priceless Computing opposite PC world in Finneston is great for diy computing... and LSC, go with LCD over plasma. I love my 42 incher ;)
  17. I'm with Tiscali and their broadband is alright but the phone package is pants. it costs 7.66p just to connect a call to a landline and even more to a mobile...even if you are on the call for literally 1 second. So I've started hanging up after 3 rings to stop bloody answering machines costing me a fortune. Hollz, how long would my contract be for if I took a broadband and phone deal? 12 months?
  18. I know better than to answer these sort of questions! Better still....ask her!
  19. I hear you Tanya. I know all about the problems that Russians bring
  20. This thread reminds me of a great wee video that my Romanian mate at work directed me to. When The Lights Go Out Enjoy the Romanian humour
  21. Can't be bothered thinking up another 4 but Dire Straits - Money for Nothing would be in there
  22. Another taxi one for our 4 wheeled Buds... It's a stormy night and the taxi driver can barely see out the windscreen with all the rain. Suddenly, a rainsoaked fare jumps into the back and he casually pulls away. He glances in the mirror to ask where they were off to and notices that it is a soaking wet beautiful woman, naked as the day she was born sitting there shivering in the back of his cab. Needless to say he can't take his eyes off her and eventually she asks him why he keeps staring at her in the rear view mirror. Thinking quick, he tells her that he can't help but notice that she is naked and was wondering about how she intended to pay. She replies by putting one leg up on the passenger seat head rest and the other leg up on his head rest giving him a perfect view right into her holiest of holies and says "how about this?" To which the driver replies, in true taxi driver style..."emm, got anything smaller?"
  23. I've still not written off Billy yet but I don't think he would be very effective as a lone striker which is looking likely for today. For me it's got to be Coco all the way.
  24. I opted to work my way around most of the pubs in Aberdeen instead.
