The South End clock.Not sure if it has an official name.I was dragged up in this part of Town,including going to South School which lay below the clock so it means a lot to me.

There is another building next to Mirren House,closer to Love St.I think that is where the drug/drink/gambling place is situated.A mate of mine had an office in Mirren House and I don't remember any addicts hanging about.The office where you booked Renfrew Cooncil football pitches was situated in Mirren House

There were no flames as there was no fire.The smoke came from the film reel on the projector overheating,a common fault in those days I believe.Panic set in after children who had smelt the smoke started shouting "Fire" and the rest is history.
