  1. At least he's got someone else to blame when it goes tits up.
  2. Excellent, balanced assessment of the season so far. It would also suggest that the players are behind Danny and vice versa. He is not pretending all is well and neither is he awfulising everything. We shall see come next Saturday, which would appear to be the do or die game for Danny as far as some fans are concerned. Thank god we've got someone articulate at the club.
  3. Alex Beckett in a saints best 11? Hmmm. I remember him getting pelters week in week out. Most around me at the time felt he was the weak link in a very good saints team. Still, he scored a beauty to shut the jungle up who were in full voice so, yes, thinking about it, leave him in just for that goal alone.
  4. My best memory of Munro is him scoring against celtic in a game that ended 3-3 with us 3-1 up at one stage. The goal he scored in the love st goal came when he gathered the ball in midfield, strode forward a few steps, then sold the whole Celtic team a beautiful dummy, strode forward a bit more then swept a wonderful strike past their keeper. I was in the north bank quite near the fence as usual. The place absolutely erupted
  5. Poor Danny should never have led us to a cup win. The poor man had led us to believe greater things were to come. If we hadn't won the league cup the current lack of good form would not have such a major impact on people's expectations. I will never forget the euphoria of that occasion, the weeks leading up to it and the singing and dancing for weeks afterwards. Fast forward to now and we sit like men on death row, some hysterical, some accepting our fate, others trying to work out how to escape without a key. Danny is the present governor who has to be the most popular in terms of personality ever to lead our great club. Who wouldn't want him to succeed? However, nice guys rarely win things in sport. Our Danny needs to develop a ruthless streak and instil some fight into the players and stop rolling the red carpet out to the opposition. Only then will we see more fruitful results and Danny keeps his job.
  6. Caprice should NEVER been handed his home debut in that fashion. The only subs you should use at that stage are subs who have some sort of scoring record. As far as I'm aware caprice isn't that sort of player. From the little I've seen of him on YouTube his pace might just be the ideal foil for the new french lad up front who by all accounts is no slouch himself. Oh, and lastly, when I was a wee boy I used to abuse players too. It kinda made me feel like a tough guy...........then I grew up.
  7. Whether booing has a negative effect or not it stops when you win.
  8. Is this saga at the core of what's wrong? There is clearly something amiss. Lee mair will naturally have some mates in the team. Perhaps they are unhappy with the methods used by Danny to offload him ( which clearly haven't worked as yet) is Dannys authority and leadership being challenged? So many questions and speculation. People have opinions on every player and Lee is no different. Last question: would we be stronger now by including him in the team?
  9. Having read Dannys comments on the BBC website it would appear that he is not for quitting. He actually makes some very honest remarks on the general situation we find ourselves in. Like most others on here I want to see Danny succeed, but I support St Mirren more than I do Danny Lennon. He really needs something of a miracle to survive "at this moment in time". The cup win is now a distant memory.lastly Im not convinced that tommy Craig is the right man for no 2 it seems that there are communication problems once the game is underway, and by reading accounts of the game tommy Craig is the one shouting conflicting instructions from the dug out. Is danny too soft and perhaps intimidated by tommys reputation?
  10. When other less experienced managers are more tactically astute than Danny then we have a problem. Someone else said they thought he looked unwell. I would agree with this as he does look as if he has lost weight. He is a genuinely good guy and does not deserve abuse of any description. St Mirren football club has a duty of care to all it's employees and as much I doubt whether or not Danny can guide us out of this mess, he does deserve all the help and support we can give him. I react emotionally after a defeat like everyone else and call for his head, but once calm returns would anyone here like to be the one who says " I'm sorry mr Lennon but your sacked"
  11. Whatever the outcome of today's game, where do we really go from here? There is no doubt we have some good players but does Mr Lennon think he is some sort of tactical genius who can outsmart the opposition with his constant tinkering? The results speak for themselves and also the manner of defeat which is harder to take. We have followed saints long enough to expect highs and lows but to capitulate as regularly as we are doing is a bridge too far for me. Mr Lennon I will never forget the 17th of March 2013 and I thank you for that, however the team that you select and organise is losing ground. That is your responsibility. The next few days will determine the future of our great club in the premiership. Let's hope the correct decisions are made before it's too late.
  12. Looks quick and strong on the short clip on youtube. If this boy really is in the same mould as isma we might just have better times ahead. A real unknown quantity which makes his signing all the more exciting. Now let's give the jags a doing tomorrow with a NICE wee debut double from our new hero. COYS!
  13. Do we really want a kid who can't get in the Carlisle team because of Lee miller?
  14. I heard this lad stephane comes from a bahoken marriage
  15. I wouldnt have the first idea how transfers work and who pays in a loan deal, but is it possible that by letting Robertson go it gives us a little more to throw behind the deal for the French boy? I think I read Danny as saying there had been a further condition put on the deal late on in the proceedings.
  16. Now that I've calmed down a bit maybe it's time for Danny to stop being mr nice guy and show some passion. He clearly cares about the club and the supporters. It's a worry to think that he is running out of chances. We appear to far too nice as a club, where other teams like to come and have a good kick about and leave with three points. It's time to win at all costs. We know Danny has a great footballing philosophy but it's not getting results, so it's not working.
  17. Emotional reaction maybe, but lennons tea is most definitely out. Dropping gowser for our most crucial game of the season is totally unacceptable.Danny is a nice guy but he clearly can't make good decisions under pressure
  18. I hate to say it but it would appear vanzy has struggled at this level and my wild guess is that his booking came about from him being caught out by poor positioning. I like his attitude but his actual ability isn't cutting it anymore. I know we want to retain the trophy so why drop our most influential player in gowser?
  19. Just watched the "ahem" highlights. Didn't realise from reading all the feedback on here that we had quite a few good chances. It's pretty obvious that when none of these go in the confidence goes and indecision is rampant. Can Danny and tommy turn it around? Who knows. I personally don't think it would be fair to replace Danny with thommo at this point as has been suggested on here. To expect our most heralded player to take over a struggling team will only have one outcome. Thommo would very soon become a victim of the vitriol of a number of our supporters and would end up hating us and that paints a very sad picture for me at least
  20. We could do with a good dribbler in the team right now
  21. If the jokes on this thread don't improve I might have to start supporting hertz
