  1. I used to drink in there occasionally when I stayed in Elderslie back in the 1970s. There was a terrifying wee wummin who worked there who had wiry (pubic-style) hairs growing through the skin of her nose. If she was playing pool you had to wait until the frame was finished before you got served. Customer service in the 1970s. I think The Cabin had been called Uncle Tom's Cabin previously.
  2. Today's press names French midfielder Willie Furtado who played with Stenny last season as a trialist with us.
  3. At the time he seemed more likely to compete in the Tour de France than make in football.
  4. Is that what Barry Lavety took ?
  5. I had hoped he would be taller.
  6. Well that's got to be a bonus after the string of misses from the spot last season.
  7. Even a prolific goalscorer is only as good as the service he receives from his team mates. Ian Rush was one of the best strikers in the business in his two spells at Liverpool but he was a donkey when he was playing in Italy. The service he received there just didn't match his strengths but when he returned to Liverpool normal service was resumed.
  8. So you ask me to justify my opinion on Joe Hart's inept performance and I give you my evidence. Why throw Craig Gordon at me as a argument against my opinion about Joe Hart ?? Relevance ? No, on second thoughts, please don't bother to respond.
  9. Seriously ? Neither strike was particularly close to the frame of the goal. Hart set up the defensive wall both times and failed to cover the areas that were his responsibility. Awful goalkeeping for a supposedly world class goalkeeper. I accept that incidents in a match can be matters of opinion but, if you think Hart is exempt for blame, your opinion is just wrong.
  10. Simple really. Joe Hart f**ked up big time twice, that was the basic reason that we even managed a draw. He was our star man. The 3 Celtic players who are being hung, drawn and quartered on this thread actually played really well and are (IMO) being victimised for their single errors. But hey, why criticise the England goalie when you can fire missiles at Celtic players ?? Sometimes bias bubbles to the surface without the perpetrator realising they are guilty of it.
  11. Oh FFS, take a chill pill and look at what was achieved over the 90 minutes today. Losing 0-1 with 4 minutes remaining who wouldn't have taken a draw ?? Laugh or cry ? Blaming Craig Gordon / Stuart Armstrong / Scott Brown seems to me like anti-Celtic bias bubbling to the surface. We should be praising a gutsy performance by Scotland's players rather than firing bullets at scapegoats. Surely Joe Hart was the real cock out there. Two howlers !! I've never liked Leigh Griffiths but what he did for Scotland tonight was above and beyond my expectations. You have to applaud those two strikes. Well played Griffiths.
  12. Pow. Zap.
  13. OP is just an attention seeker. Boo to us for indulging him/her.
  14. Roy Barraclough, aged 81. Off to re-join Les Dawson perhaps.
  15. Unsurprising as the car doesn't have a flat tyre.
  16. This one may seem a bit left field, but I think this guy must be worth investigating as someone who has some genuine quality. Currently available as a free transfer and only 24 years old, a one-time £1 million pound transfer player who played 32 games last season for newly-promoted Plymouth Argyle and has 20 games under his belt in the SPL on loan at Ross County. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Slew Just a thought ??
  17. Now they can go bust, that would be just peachy.
  18. If Stelios has been offered the choice of signing for Partick Thistle, playing in the Scottish Premiership and taking a surge in his pay packet or signing for us for lower wages and warming a bench in the Championship it's a no-brainer for him. Good luck Stelios and a fond cheerio with our best wishes. Huge thanks for your valued efforts in the stripes.
  19. Two teams I despise. Shit, one of them won.
  20. Have we signed a sponsorship deal with Ralph Lauren as well ?
  21. Ex-St Mirren diddy keeper Mark Ridgers gets his big chance in goal for Partick Thistle today. H-T Partick 0 Aberdeen 5. Anybody surprised ??
  22. Yes congratulations to the Paranoids. A truly fantastic achievement considering the handicaps they have had to endure. Apparently every 50:50 refereeing decision went against them all season, they had no luck in any game they played and all Scottish football officials are Masonic Orangemen.
  23. LOL shull. AFAF.
