Would expect at least one more signing to arrive before the window closes. When asked the question at the virtual AGM Tony confirmed we were indeed looking to further enhance the squad.

Could Coronavirus Kill Our 42 Clubs
Mid Calder Saint replied to shull's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
Quite clearly the SPFL had previously voted against forfeiture of games and 3-0 awards so something has to be changed I look around the English Leagues and there has been no talk whatsoever of punishments of the nature handed out to us and Killie.Commonsense has to prevail we are in the middle of a World Pandemic and we are all learning. -

Gavin just signed 18month deal with Livingston

Totally agree with what you say we should all be delighted with Saints showing this level of ambitious and of course at 24 his best days are ahead of him
-
Maybe we can come to an agreement with Killie just now never good to have an unsettled player around Scottish International and only 24 looks like a great signing

Kilmarnock v St Mirren Sat 2nd Jan 21
Mid Calder Saint replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
BBC Sportscene programme is awful did not even discuss the fact that the Killie keeper went straight through Tait forcing him to be subbed. This was a straight red card and a penalty. This ref was so far out of his depth it beggars belief he has reached Grade 1.Moreover that pitch was unplayable and was a complete danger to the players.Time for SFA/SPFL to conduct investigation. Very surprised we as a club did not make strong objections to this match going ahead. -

Understand what you are saying and of course there are no crowds at present why should the OF get special treatment we all playing for the same points -

Good point on what is always an awful surface but today was an utter shit surface and was unplayable with players slipping and sliding.Delighted with our current league position.Oh and why do we get novice refs and not the OF.It is a bloody disgrace. -
Welcome Jak Alnwick
Mid Calder Saint replied to Eric Arthur Blair's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
One of the best keepers in the UK note he has already played in Newcastle's first team could easily move to the EPL where the all-round level of keepers is quite low Sevco were nuts to let him go -
Ross County (a) Boxing Day
Mid Calder Saint replied to Bud the Baker's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Thoroughly agree with your comments JG has to manage the players during this ridiculous schedule whoever thought of sending us on a eight hour roundtrip to Dingwall on Boxing Day.Re the Covid situation we were unable to travel the night before and stay in a hotel and of course the pre match meal in Inverness was cancelled late on causing change in travel plans. Not the best preparation for players camped in a coach for four hours. We have played better and the result in most important.Personally delighted to be seventh in the table with our strongest squad for some time and a League Cup Semi to look forward to and yes we are more than capable of lifting the trophy.COYS -
Hibernian v St Mirren Premiership 23/12/20
Mid Calder Saint replied to shull's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
Wasn’t a great game but hey we were playing the third best team in Scotland and we certainly deserved at draw at least. One criticism however was our use of subs.We did lose our shape somewhat with Ethan our only midfielder thought that if subbing MacPherson and McGrath the obvious replacements were Flynn and Foley.Dennis just looks lost at this level.Anyway on to County and Jake back. -
St Mirren v Sevco League Cup Quarter Final 16/12/20

Jamie showed such composure as you say with that finish surely he can't be far away from his first cap for Ireland this boy is a very accomplished midfielder -
Motherwell v St Mirren 12/12/20
Mid Calder Saint replied to faraway saint's topic in Matchday & Travel Club
We were terrific in the first half our passing was a delight to watch in the second half we were forced to defend more but have to say I thought we were comfortable. Our midfield is really good also good options in midfield on the bench.I have a hunch we will try to improve the striking dept in the window but guess that will be difficult.COYS. -
Club covid executives - a statement.
Mid Calder Saint replied to antrin's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
You make very excellent points filter in that Queens train full time in the central belt I would doubt that their players would not car share on their trips to Dumfries for home games. For certain QOTS would not be in a position to hire two buses. Something that the league said we we should do.Quite frankly to me the whole episode is a mess.Far from making things worse for clubs the league should be doing all they can to help clubs.I refuse to believe that Celtic have had no positive cases at club level yet when their players go on international duty you find their players can test positive on an asymptomatic level.I am still livid that Aberdeen and Celtic were not hit with 3-0 losses yet the league deemed it ok to hit us and Killie. Finally I fail to see how punishment levels can be changed during the season without the express authority of the majority of clubs. -
Watched the whole match Ferguson after his first caution continued to mouth at the ref and my view he he got s second for continually fouling the boy thinks he is a superstar and has a lot to learn

Points should be won or lost on the football pitch what about so-called sporting integrity listening to the Motherwell and Hamilton managers today makes me sick to the core -

So after time to reflect clubs can contravene the Covid Protocol but SPFL will only intervene if it results in the cancellation of the relevant fixture. The picture today of the entire Dundee Utd squad of players coaches etc expressing no safe distance whatsoever is ridiculous to say the least however the league will only be alerted if the game tomorrow v Livingston is cancelled. This whole charade is totally bizarre and must be challenged in the Law Courts.Interesting to listen today to the Hibs Manager expressing his disgust at the SPFL verdict. -

Mid Calder Saint replied to antrin's topic in General St. Mirren Discussion
It has emerged that only four clubs voted in favour of 3-0 losses to clubs who failed to fulfil their fixture due to failure of Covid protocols.Accordingly the league has no mandate to award those points to Motherwell and Hamilton. This decision now has to be reversed. -

I would like to know where the SPFL obtained all the information regarding our alleged mistakes. What right have they in their Report to say we should have had two coaches to Dumfries to avoid social distancing.Who do they expect to cover the cost of that this was a cup tie with no crowd.Usually you would have received half gate receipts after expenses. They introduce all those protocols yet Managers and Coaching Staff hog the touch line with no masks. Moreover it appears ok for players to neglect social distancing when a goal is scored with hugs and cuddling of team mates. No consistency of rules whatsoever.SPFL is not fit for purpose. We have seven days to appeal.Refer this charade to the Law Courts now.Judges will tear all this apart.
