  1. I think your comment that we did not look like scoring sums up our problem. We look like relying again on Thommo this season and are somewhat fecked if he is out of the team. Hopefully Marwood and Ball can score soon.
  2. Think the problem is much deeper rooted and will not be solved by an ageing front man even though he is a legend. Did we underestimate Accies?
  3. I know we have a history of inconsistency but why can't we play well 2 games in a row? I am not a knickerwetter but when outplayed as we have been tonight I truly am concerned.
  4. Serious questions need to be asked as to why our team playing at home are being out played by a team just promoted. This smacks of Lennon last season when we had a horrendous start. Deja Vu anyone?
  5. Billy McKay did hee haw in the lower leagues but has flourished up here. Also, how do you know how much influence or decision making was made by Tommy. Remember he was nit the manager so how was he in charge? At least give the new guys more than 1 competitive match before judging them. I think they deserve our full support when playing in stripes. KTF.
  6. What cinema do you go to? An adult and 2 kids will cost around £26. Bring your own sweets and even with popcorn that will be around £30. I doubt 3 tickets to football plus sweets etc will be less than that. The price of football is now beyond a lot of people who would like to go. Unless you price it right many future fans will find/have other things to spend their money on.
  7. It is a friendly match and more about fitness and seeing what works plus players getting usedto each other. As for relating this to actual competitive matches, can I say that Swansea City from the EPL lost 3-1 to a lower league side (Bournemouth) . It happens and I doubt Swans fans won't be worrying too much and thinking they are going to struggle because of a game more necessary for match fitness than end result.
  8. K. I am sure a lot of what you had can be replaced. Talk via pm.
  9. Ian. If all else fails let me know what albums you have lost and I will see what I can do for you mate. Shit situation re the loss. Did you back your stuff on Cloud?
  10. What gives us the right to beat 6 of the clubs or as you say "should beat".? Our budget dictates the quality of player and most clubs will offer more than we can (despite putting themselves into financial difficulty). Perhaps in due course our youth development will produce good players but then the key problem is keeping them. Maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised this season. As for expecting to beat teams or should beat teams, that is generally for old firm fans.
  11. Who is that aimed at? Me?
  12. And you know this how? Another sad attempt at a wind up. The season has not kicked off yet and here we have this type of shit being spouted. Either back up your laughable claims or do your trolling elsewhere.
  13. You mate are out of order. No matter Mark's limitations, he gives 100% and loves the club. The lad is injured and we should support any injured player and not, as you are doing, firing cheap shots and coming over as a bitter and sad person. Your vitriole will not lead to TC getting rid of Cheesy. In fact, I will leave the judgement of how good Cheesy is to the manager who I am sure is a better judge. If you want to see a class centre half or central defender then go to the Etihad instead.
  14. I have seen many more downs than ups but have never lost my passion for the club. On a positive note, we are still in the top division and for a small club with limited resources and small support that is to be applauded. BTW, I found a 1964 newspaper and read a review of Saints v Falkirk which ended 0-0. Crowd? 3000. Nothing has changed much attendance wise in 50 years. Reality check needed at times and appreciate where we currently are while 3 of the biggest clubs are in the division below us. KTF.
  15. Welcome home Jerome. Let us not forget Fitzy, McGarvey and Munroe all came back as have many others. If I left my job for a better paid one and then decided to go back to the old one, most would welcome you. He is a Saints p!ayer again so let's get behind him and support him like every other player in black and white.
  16. Off topic somewhat but it appears Scottish football has not learned its lessons as it seems most clubs are signing foreign players rather than giving home grown boys a chance. Dundee signing 2 Germans and makes you wonder how the feck they can afford the wages of what is almost a new squad?
  17. The bottom line is that no one other than the club know the reason or reasons for Gowser not getting a new contract. The fact is he has gone and better players have left our club in the past. Life and the club move on. We have no idea how influential or committed Gowser would have been if retained and can you imagine the posts on here if he had been as ineffectual as last season. Kenny will fill his role and let's see how good he is with Dundee. On a final note, if he was that good how come bigger clubs did not take him?
  18. Not going to bite but as someone who spent 27 years in the public sector try and read a bit more on the main reasons why a strike took place. People struggling to make ends meet don't go on strike and lose a day's pay without some justification. You Sir, are clearly a Tory. Don't
  19. I see Goodwillie is a free agent. Also Killie sniffing which begs the question, how can they possibly afford to pay Boyd and Goodwillie with crowds around our level and debt ridden?
  20. He is on loan and can be recalled if necessary. He won't be, be patient and wait to see who comes in.
  21. No Peter Leonard, Alex Bone, Mark McWalters, Brian Third, Brian Docherty or Steve Archibald?
  22. In IOBS defence I think he meant Muslim rather than Arab. If I am wrong then I will hold my hand up. Whatever, the murder of this young woman was unacceptable and shows that in many parts of the world people use religion to justify horrendous acts of punishment and life is easily dismissed.
