  1. Quite a lot of folk on here are of the opinion that an adult should not wear a football shirt for some reason. I wear a polo shirt in work but I don't play polo for a living. I also wear hiking boots but don't go hiking. My wife wears ballet pumps but she is not a ballerina. When I get home and take my hiking boots off, I may put on my cons, even if have no intention of playing baseball. A football shirt is made for an adult by default with variations made for weans etc for merchandising and there is NOTHING WRONG WITH WEARING ONE! (even if you aren't playing football) I can't get to all of the games all the time and I live in Glasgow so I do like to buy at least one Saints shirt every season to kick about in to (hopefully) give some extra cash to the club and to show my support for my team! I probably won't bother this year though, those new strips are unbelievably bad!
  2. For once I'm waiting on a third strip with bated breath, that is f**king hideous!
  3. Looks like he'll fit in the Scottish game allright... http://propaganda.photoshelter.com/image/I00005Jv6icBFpuw
  4. Looks a bit like a big Dougie Imrie. Just saying...
  5. I'm just going to say it; Neymar is a wee prick and I hope he makes a right hash of one of his trademark dives and goes over on his neck.
  6. Time will tell though, I was looking forward to seeing what Cornell could do last season, that went well...
  7. I asked a Jambo acquaintance what his verdict on Ridgers was, I quote; "Good goalie, big lad, strong too" He is normally quite a scathing chap so the fact he didn't give him any pelters is encouraging for me! Shame about Dilo if he is indeed away, he certainly did step up when we needed him but the big man seems like a good signing!
  8. Thommo, from that article; "So it is great that the club have made it clear we are keeping hold of John. "I think it will be more difficult with Kenny, as at 22 he is that bit older. But we will have to see how things develop." Interesting!
  9. Was anyone a worse player on our left wing than Jim Gardner?
  10. Shout outs to Stormtrooper and Tedious Tom, any fantasy Saints team I would pick would be led out by a fully-fit Norrie McWhirter any day!
  11. Jim Gardner should be the captain of this side! No mention of Gerry Creany so far....
  12. Awesome news, had just assumed we would be reading that he was going to be at Tynecastle any day now, good old-school keeper - big commanding maniac between the sticks! Also read that Cornell was away back now, thought he left at Christmas!!
  13. His agent said that there were a number of offers from clubs in England and Scotland, be interesting to find out if that is just agent talk or there were any offers apart from our's up here....
  14. There were some grim times back then, I remember one year being at a game at Love St against Clydebank about halfway through the season and there were 980 odd punters there! We have come along a hell of a long way since then!
  15. Like I said on Facebook earlier, £350k plus Lyle Taylor seems like a good starting point!
  16. The "Tedious Tom years" however, are in full swing!
  17. Page 5 of this thread is hoachin with awesome puns!!
  18. Incidentally, it's nice to have Saints news on the radio again, even if it is mainly what you read on twitter or here a few hours earlier!
  19. Just on XFM news there and it said said Djemba-Djemba was following Van Zanten out the door at St Mirren... THAT'S NOT NEWS!
  20. I'd like to see what Harkins can really do if settled and happy and all that good stuff! The Thistle fans called him "fat Zidane" - not that I'm trying to make that much comparison but if you watch that Zidane film with the Mogwai soundtrack, you will see the cameras on him alone for 90 minutes. Most of the time when he is not on the ball, he drags his toes on the turf and then gets sent off before the final whistle! I think if I wasn't into football and know just what Zidane could do/did, I would have thought he was a bit shite and a proper lazy bastard so I can kinda see what the Jags folk are on about! If he doesn't have the right attitude or whatever then it would be great if Oldham did take him but unless you are inside the dressing room and at training, you don't know what goes on. All I'm saying is I was really excited when this boy signed for us and he never really got going, I'd quite like to see an on-form Gary Harkins tearing it up in that stupid ice hockey referee Saints shirt next season, so crazy it just might work...
