  1. That won't be the Common opinion when MK Dons the number one jersey ya womble!
  2. Like this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbKE0gJETA0
  3. I don't see any concrete evidence within that piece which proves the fact that NATO would bar Scotland from deciding what to do with it's own lands. Salmond has stated that Faslane would still be used as a NAVAL base. Not a NUCLEAR base. It would be seen as no more than vindictiveness for what's left fof the UK to veto Scotland joining NATO. There is NO proviso for any member nation being forced to install or retain any nuclear deterent. Poorly researched journalism or filibustering? You decide.
  4. There is so much wrong with your arguments that it hardly seems worth debating. Why should you think that being associated with NATO would mean Scotland would have to accept Nuclear weapons in their own back yard? In fact. I believe it far more likely that any of the major powers would prefer that a small independent nation should NOT have access to weapons of mass destruction. You try to pick holes in the Nationalists agenda and portray Salmond as the antichrist while accepting everything in the NO camp as Gospel as if it were part of the decalogue brought from Mount Sinai.
  5. Though it wasn't an independence vote we would have been much further down the route than we are at present AND, when the inevitable final vote happened it would have been far harder for the "UK" parties to pull the wool over the eyes of the Scottish people when the oil industry was in a far more advantageous position.
  6. Does anyone know why the Chinese Restaurant, "Palace Royale" in Moss Street has closed it's doors? I used to take the missus there every so often for a buffet lunch but, the last couple of occasions, the doors have been closed.
  7. Faslane may well be unique but it IS in Scotland. IF Scotland were to vote for independence and were to decide that they wanted no part in nuclear proliferation the rest of the UK would have, short of invasion, no other recourse other than remove them from a then self governing, sovereign state. In fact I think the costs could, theoretically, be incurred by both parties by ratio meaning the brunt of that cost could fall on the remaining parts of the UK. Where Engurland decide to stick them is neither here nor there.
  8. I've refrained from making my intentions public till now but, as it's a decision that will live with us forever, I feel we can't NOT vote for independence. Mark my words. A NO vote will be a red flag for the bulldog to bite us on the erse! Forget the so called benefit we get from the Barnett formula. This is actually a myth anyway as we are positive contributors to the treasury. Vote no and the UK Government will take it as a sign that Scotland can be treated like a backwater state worthy of no more than lipservice,. AND.... They would be right. Too many are afraid of taking that final step as they would no longer be able to blame the big bad English for any perceived ills or failings. The vote taken in the seventies should have been, indeed some suggest it was, a resounding YES. That mistake needs to be rectified. Once that bullet has been bitten we can go forward and give that nanny state party that is the SNP the same bullet and have a proper government which most in Scotland can go forward with.
  9. If Teale is fit then it wouldn't neccesarilly be a disaster to lose Goodie. Newton moves in. Teale on the right with, perhaps, Caprice behind at right back. Might even be a godsend.
  10. I remember it well. We passed the wee barrel after the game. One of my deserter mates asked what the final score was and they didnt believe me. Edited to add. I didn't believe me either and I witnessed it all unfold. I also have the programme from the day.
  11. Kello has played two competitive games in the last year. I just hope he still has it in him to play in a high pressure game.
  12. Don't know how this would go. I'm sure Kello wouldn't sign to sit on the bench and, if he started, that would be a kick in the goolies to the goalie who started the season. Knock his confidence six feet under.
  13. With the ratio of sheep to man there we could play Aberdeen and fill the field ground!
  14. Lazy Barsteward. It probably took longer to write the question.
  15. Was that the game that the big Paisley cnut Forsyth was sent off and (I think), McGarvey had a goal chopped off?
  16. The biggest differences between Dilo and Cornell is that, 1) Dilo directs his defenders, Cornell is as silent as a wind on a warm day. 2) Dilo doesn't wander out of his 18 yard box constantly. Both are reasonable shopstoppers but I think Dilo is far more commanding in his 6 yard area. Witn our excellent goalkeeping coach I envisage both improving during their stay.
  17. Naw it wulnae! Freck me! IF they were to fluke it do you really think they'll say, "We are British and we won it for Britain"? Nae Fcukin' chance! It'd be all "Land of hope and glory", and Saint Georges flags for, at a guess, 400 years! The only good thing would be that we could transpose Centigrade to Fahrenheit when the temperature reached 190C without strating them, off again about the one the Boche were cheated out of!

    Riordan

Con-conversely, he would have one of the best scoring records in SPL history FOR June and July!
  19. The real problem was the official NOT raising his flag immediately as this gave the impression that the corner was taken legitimately. As said previously. The fact the linesman waved the Thistle player back the regulated yardage infers he thought the corner not taken.
  20. Cue the barrage of ridicule and abuse.
  21. If that's the case let's hope Cornell is more confident playing behind the new back line.
  22. I hope not! PEDANT ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. The usual from you Stu. IF Hearts had taken their chances............... If we hadn't taken ours.................... Had Saintees stopped us from scoring........................ IF you had the other half of your brain....................
