The window is about to slam shut and whoever took his place would have the same "tools", (no offence to the players), to work with. It apparently looked a little better as far as the goalkeeper is concerned. Hope that continues. We managed to stay afloat last year with what might be argued as a weaker defence. We now have McGregor back, Grainger on board and the young guy from the land of rock and candyfloss. A striker might just be enough to settle the nerves of that defence who, at the moment, must feel like one slip will end in defeat. I've not quite given up on 10th spot and we have two home games, albeit one v last years SPL runners up, for the players and the coaching staff to prove they are up for the fight. Believe, pray, believe, pray? Don't know which will work but let's hope the team do.

Just saw this and, from where I sit, this just doesn't compute. Danny was given funds to entice McGowan to stay. He brought in fairly high profile signings with harkins and Grainger. I would be more inclined to think that Danny had targets who outpriced themselves or did a "Harte" with a Carlisle style U-turn. This may or may not be the case but I think it rings more true than your conspiracy theory.

People talk about balanced views etc. Well. Let me see. We've played two games in the farthest reaches of Scotland and, quite frankly, got hu*ped. One shining light was what I saw in Paisley. Let's not get into this, Boyd sending off was a game changer. We were actually playing very well for the first fifteen minutes. Boyd was being kepty quiet until they had a breakaway from a very good Saints' move. I saw the deficiencies in our team. Absolutely. But... I also saw a flicker of light with the overall performance which leads me to believe, with a couple of signings in key areas, we won't be cannon fodder. That's why I'm keeping my council and waiting to see developements. Not "happy clapping". Not "Knickerwetting". Just being patient and relying on those in charge, be it DL and his staff or SG and his BoD, to do the right thing for my club. Ross County looked like battling it out with Dundee last year and we looked as if we were going in the right direction. League wise? How did that turn out? Let's calm down for a couple more days and see if there is a cunning plan and we get some black, (and white), adders to the squad. Edited for spelling misdemeanours!

I watched the Scottish football "highlights" show on Tuesday and I must admit to being severely underwhelmed. Analyists aside, and they, (Grant and Craigan) were cringeworthy, the programme showed very little football and instead spent most of its allocated time spouting about the woes of the terrible twins from east and west of glasgow. Don't think I'll be too bothered about missing this if that's indicative of what to expect.

In most cases, young players tend to be inconsistent. Inexperience is a possible reason but, if a manager doesn't have the option to "rest" a lad when this happens, it could seriously impact on that players developement. Yes. I would love it if our gems shone for the entire campaign but I don't want Danny to rely soley on this happening. That for me would be tantamount top not having a "plan B".

If we were likely to end the season mid table then I would say yes but I don't think we can afford to rely purely on our young, "inhouse" strikers. Midfielders are a bit easier to introduce without too much adverse effects.
