  1. I think now might be a good time to stop, as your agenda makes you look quite bitter and twisted.
  2. Rae like many other players who have played at the top level appears to be one of the ones who can't make the move from a top level player to being a good manager. He's making the same mistakes as he made at Dundee. Failure to address the problematic midfield area at Dens ultimately seen him and Farrell lose their jobs. Good managers learn from their mistakes, Rae appears to be stubborn and unlikely to change his style of playing. He created the unbalanced squad and he knows it. No amount of tinkering with line ups and formations can disguise the total lack of leadership direction and a pitiful style of football. Like his predecessor Ian Murray he's at the last chance saloon with a job at this level imo, so it's in his best interests to turn things around quickly. I hope he proves me wrong but I've got little faith he's the man to take us forward.
  3. From what I've seen so far this season we look like we are actually worse than last season's Ian Murray debacle. Rae has been given the funds to sign every player that he identified. We all seemed to be quietly confident of a successful season given the very decent quality of the squad he assembled. What we've actually witnessed so far, can only be described as an unmitigated disaster. From hoof ball to dire defensive mistakes and a team who look like they have no belief or direction. The back four of Naismith Webster Baird and Irvine are amongst the worst I've seen in all my years of watching Saints. As for Hutton, no harm to the lad but he like his manager is completely out of his depth. We may not be in a position financially to fire Rae, but the signs are there for all to see. If we persist with him then I think our championship status is under threat. He has to go and very soon.
  4. It would be appropriate for both clubs to acknowledge his passing, given that we are playing tomorrow. I hope something can be arranged and that both clubs are made aware of it.
  5. Well done Mr Zoo for this thread in memory of Bubbles who had immense talent. I will always remember seeing him play for Raith against us in that league winning decider at love street. Like many other buddies at the time I wished that he had still been with us at the time, and been part of that glorious title winning team. Terrible when anyone dies at such a young age.
  6. Houston is and has always been a total prick, despite what people from within the game think of him. His post match comments confirm that he talks utter shite. Falkirk were full of dirty sneaky wee bastards who knew exactly how to mix it at every opportunity
  7. Feel free to delete this even if I did post it first. ☺️
  8. McMullan signs for Morton till end of the season.
  9. Paul McMullan has signed a loan deal at Morton.
  10. Just been announced that Sunderland have sacked Adam Johnson.
  11. Would the Irish Dutch hunk consider himself a candidate for the vacant post at Ralston.
  12. Massive loss to our club, but David deserves his chance in the states after developing some great talent within our youth system. Very much a man dedicated to his job and what a cracking job he's done with our academy set up. I wish him all the very best in Orlando.
  13. If we win at Dumfries next Saturday playing in a similar fashion to yesterday, then I'll be delighted. We all wanted the team to be competative and able to compete in the championship, AR has got the very reaction we all wanted. There's very little between the teams below the top 3, and if we continue to be dogged and full of fighting spirit then 4 th place is definitely achievable. In Stevie Mallan we have the kind of quality that other teams around us don't have. He's a match winner and you almost expect him to score with every free kick we get in and around the box. Rocco Quinn, Clarkson and Irvine also give us that bit more experience we desperately required. So all in all things are looking brighter as AR has us organised and having a much better shape. Working progress in its early stage, onwards and upwards.
  14. I would say that the thinking behind building play from the back, is not to be messing about and losing possession of the ball. It's more in line with how the rest of Europe coach kids at grass roots level. We are encouraged to coach them into moving the ball at pace and showing them how to pass and move. It's all about expressing themselves and developing their basic skills. If a coach at grass roots or senior level is teaching players to be over elaborate while building up play from the back, then they aren't doing their job correctly. Its up to individual coaching styles how some of them interpret how to build play.
  15. Apparently still interested in the boy Smith at the Dons.
  16. I'm involved with coaching a local boys club. The kids are playing non competative 7 a side games, and the directive we have from the SJFA is to coach the kids how to play the ball out from the back. Goalkeepers aren't allowed to kick the ball long and must play the ball from the back in order to build play. When they put you through the SFA coaching courses this is also specified that you must use the build from the back method of coaching, as this is the way forward. I understand why Alex Rae wants to play with a more direct approach at senior level, but if we want kids to have the basic skills mastered then we need to coach them how to be comfortable with the ball at their feet, and not just hoof it long.
  17. Don't be surprised if Goody makes the bench tomorrow.
  18. I was at the game with my two sons and Graham Carey's number one fan JJ. It was one of the best games I've ever witnessed as a buddie. When that 3 rd goal went in all four of us were going mental, even the two coppers behind us were smiling. The scenes at the final whistle will live long I'm my memory.
  19. Because the man lives and breathes St Mirren, he's a club legend and will without doubt play a vital part in recruiting players with his infectious enthusiasm for this great club.
  20. Div tweeting we may see another couple of signings before Saturday.
  21. So you have an in depth knowledge of CammySmith that allows you to form this opinion. How many times have you seen the boy play?
