Remember jolly jim rodgers scoring 5 goals against Third Lanark at Cathkin during my formative years

Yes - magic memories - was there with my Dad: Third Lanark 0 - St Mirren 8

Third Round replay of the Scottish Cup - Wednesday 1 March 1961

However, Jim Rodger only (!) scored 4; the other scorers were Tommy Bryceland (2), Donnie Kerrigan and Alistair Miller.

For the record - the line up that glorious night was:-

Jimmy Brown, Red Campbell, Cockles Wilson, Rab Stewart, Jim Clunie, Ian Riddell, Jim Rodger, Tommy Bryceland, Donnie Kerrigan, Jock McTavish and Alistair Miller.

Thanks for that - note the attendance - 20,893.

Changed days - attendance-wise and quality-wise.

That's cheered me up and hopefully a few other old codgers!

There seems to be some dispute over the date - either 28 February or 1 March 1961

I was born the day before the 1962 Scottish Cup Final.

I was not taken to the Match.

Thankfully.

It may have left me bitter and twisted towards our opponents if I had witnessed the defeat.
