stlucifer
I'm delighted that Andy's comeback didn't end in a damp squib moment. I didn't see the match but, FS says, the highlights showed Andy's comeback is progressing fine.
shull
Andy resumes his Doubles match today after it was abandoned last night because of dodgy light. He is one Set up and 5-5 in the Second. COME ON ANDY AND PARTNER.
shull
If he wins the second Set it is GAME OVER. Then after a wee break he will play his next round tie.

Lopez wins both singles and doubles in the one day. Not seen the figures but could have been about 6 hours of intense tennis. As for Murray, great to see him back, pain free and playing some decent stuff. Where can he go in singles, very hard to say as IMO if he doesn't feel he can win I'd doubt he'd enter. Very nice comeback, Wimbledon beckons in the mens doubles and mixed doubles, a much harder proposition.

faraway saint
The unfortunate thing is that it's more than likely the British contingent will all be out before the start of week two. It's shameful there's been little improvement after Murray raising the profile over the last umpteen years. Other countries produce a top 20/10 player without a player of Murrays class, the current top British man is 31 with the next at 49. The womens game is worse, Konta, after a excellent French open, is at 18 with the next highest rank Heather "Out in round 2" Watson at 122. Despite Judy Murray trying very hard to get grass roots tennis off the ground there's nothing showing at the professional level.
faraway saint
BBC news announce Edmund's had taken over the British number one slot from Andy Murray last year. Suppose the fact Murray wasn't playing could have been a factor. Anyhow, currently a 15 year old is 1-0 in sets against Venus Williams. Also Heather Watson won today......................her first victory in a year.

faraway saint
Federer strolls through against a plucky young up-and-coming player, who had the audacity to take the first set. That just got Roger angry. Nadal, and it's very early, in a bit of trouble.

Seen a clip of her on Johnathan Ross from 2007, I think. She was absolutely stunning, model material.
