This was my first impression of Shapovalov(BELOW), way back in 2017 mate so I saw he had something then and this was a few years before he lost in the semi's at Wimbledon to Djokovic. Superb tennis.
ianmac
21 minutes ago, faraway saint said: Indeed as he was ranked, briefly, 10th in Sept 2020, not 6 months ago, numpty. You are correct that he was not ranked 10 six months ago. portmahomack saint
Can see Andy finishing on a high with a win at Wimbledon or even doing the double winning the US open at flushing Meadows

portmahomack saint
Andy has just announced he's looking to bow out at the Olympics great timing, a possible gold medal and 2 major titles to end a fantastic career 20 yrs at the top table of tennis... Thinking of a monument in the same mould as Sir Walter Scott's in Edinburgh, maybe near Brodie Park tennis courts as I suggested it. Could maybe start a crowd fund
elvis
He's got absolutely no chance of winning any kind of medal at t.he Olympics he will do his usual and get papped out in the first or second round .It's a shame.

Aye, it's seriously went downhill in the last few months. Quite why, or how, is a mystery as I'm sure Murray has been searching for the answers as his competitive nature will be making him feel as bad as he's ever felt on a tennis court. Never mind, unlikely we'll see a Scottish tennis player get even close to his achievements. I'll just concentrate on Draper.

I watched this match last night and I though Murray played very well. Mind you, he seems to have the Indian sign over Goffin. Murray has never lost a single set, never mind a match, to Goffin, the commentator said last night. Edited March 7 by ianmac
beyond our ken
He is now up against 5th seed Rublev and so a perfunctory 2-set win is invaluable to him. Don't see Murray beating Rublev easily, if at all, but he has looked good in his first match. If he has that serve sorted out then he has a puncher's chance. Wasn't watching, only on Bet 365, looked, overall, Murray was slightly struggling to hold serve while Rublev was holding slightly easier. Tuned in now, Rublev 2-1, Murray to serve. Not a lot in it. faraway saint
Anyhow, match getting away from Murray, 1-4 down in the 2nd set. Really needed that first set to have a chance to win the match. Edited March 8 by faraway saint
