Anyway, Radio 2's Vernon Kay morning show this week has featured interviews with a guy called Brad Paisley who is apparently a famous Country music musician. He will be doing a concert tonight in Glasgow, and seeminglyhe has been here before. He told Vernon Kay that he loves arriving at Glasgow airport and seeing a big "PAISLEY" sign and a huge Paisley pattern banner. There;s been a change in recent years in both image and the people delivering the songs. The latest being Beyonce with a cracking song called Texas Hold em, although played to death up here on Radio Tay. Definitely an upturn and new audiences liking the change in image. The "old style" will continue but the new performers and audiences can put Country Music at the forefront of the music scene for the immediate future. I was probably a bit like you up until about 10 years ago, old guys dressed as cowboys lamenting about the good ol days. Then just by accident I heard the song below on the radio, loved it, downloaded the album, loved it, didn’t even realise it was country. This then opened my eyes to a genre I had totally overlooked. Also I've heard a few tracks by Lady A (aka Lady Antebellum), that I like. However, Johnny Cash, drivel. Beyonce's current single, garbage. I also listened to all 10 favourite music choices picked by Brad Paisley on Radio 2 this week and I would rather slit my throat than hear any of them again.
