BuddieinEK Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 Reminisce corner. The cabinet was built by my Dad. When he and Mum married, they lived with my Grandparents until Dad had built enough furniture to furnish their Prefab. The "record player" was Mary's Dads. Complete with 78s. The wooden ornament on top of the record player was my Dad's name holder from when he worked in Saudi circa 1980. Made for him by a Philopena worker. Inside the cabinet are three glasses and a bit of wood. A modern St Mirren whisky glass. A 2013 Cup winners whisky glass. My Dads 1977 Centenary whisky glass. A bit of a floorboard from the old wooden stand at Love Street. Quote

Cookie Monster Posted April 3, 2022 Report Posted April 3, 2022 Reminisce corner.Reminds me of my Uncle's dad's record player cabinet. There wasn't a record player in it. Just drink and glasses.Trying to remember what floor in Petershill Court he stayed. Think it was the 26th, some views to the east they had.Had to look up a photo, yeah he had some view from [emoji837] over my uncle who stayed at the time in Birnie Road š¢, with my own Granny staying round the corner in Broomfield Road [emoji838] with my other aunt/uncle staying 1 up in same block š£.Was only my mammy that moved away from Barmulloch when she wed my dad.Cousins all still stay in same area.Always was such a nice and quiet area. [emoji1787]Cheers BinEK for the reminiscing. [emoji16] Quote
