  1. I haven't a clue whether or not a new manager at this point in time could save us from the play offs but we need a new manager now to start planning for next season regardless of what league we are in . Appointing someone at the end of June is too late.
  2. Agreed. The problem is that when we lost the first goal, even with so little time to go , I knew we would lose . Same as at Easter Road but we luckily got way with a hand ball . We need to show a lot more bottle. Never felt so low after a game since the 9 man defeat in the League Cup final
  3. I've got a lot of sympathy for Danny. He is clearly out of his depth and should have gone ages ago but it would be unreasonable to expect him to walk . He has a family to support. I have no sympathy at all for BOD . They could have taken the necessary action ages ago . I wonder also what restraints they have put on Danny ? Either way they and they alone are to blame for where we are . At AGMs they come across as smug and everyone bows to them as saviours of the club . Infact the club they own is a shambles playing performance and commercial wise.. It is dead and needs a total revamp in all areas. The sooner they sell up the better albeit I know I need to watch what I wish for . On the manager front , whoever is going to lead us next season , in whatever league , needs to be in post now to start preparing for next season . An appointment in July is too late.
  4. Unfortunately we have a history of allowing ourselves to be bullied without retaliating. Think back to John Brown and Dundee at the end of last season . I have tended to think we should be above that sort of thing but unfortunately the world isn't like that . Fergie showed that bullying can get results . We have to stop being so nice . We never seem to get a victory without getting a mouthful of abuse from the opposition . We should learn and start laying in before others lay into us. Dare I say it , Gus would not have tolerated the abuse we get .
  5. I'm puzzled as to why the powers that be are even considering Heart's request to have the transfer embargo lifted. This is a club that blatantly spent money they didn't have , to get glory . If they had not signed Craig Beattie a couple of seasons ago we and not they would have progressed to the cup semi . They still have enough players to carry on . Where we would they get the money to sign/ pay new players - yet again by spending money they dont have . What would happen if by some miracle , signing new players put them on a run that got them off bottom place . The relegated club , possibly us , would have been screwed . Thet play ICT in the league cup semi . How would ICT feel about playing a strengthened side ? In short they must be shown no leniency.
  6. Apart from Jon Scullion all our under 20's ( except those in the first team) look light weight . Agree he needs to be loaned but that would leave us short of players. Bahoken looked worth another try . He has the physique which I'm afraid Adam Campbell also seems to lack albeit his skill may compensate
  7. Too late to pick up any decent manager this season unless Hearts man Paul Hartley is seen as suitable. I happen to think he may be ok but given his background with our support and the suspicion his loyalties may lie elsewhere , I wonder . Yogi Hughes would have fitted in at St Mirren and would have been able to motivate but not to be. I'm afraid we will have to stick with what weve got and keep our fingers crossed that we get a second good run . Danny has sounded for ages like a man who , rightly , is worried and all his talk about wonderful directors and wonderful fans is an attempt to cover up what has been a dreadful season. I'm sure he does genuinly want to be here and do well and think he is loyal but I'm afraid results speak . The performance at Perth was disgraceful and you could almost feel the fans accepting that its not going to get much better. We all need a lift.
  8. Good news but thought no one can play for 3 clubs in one season . He has already played for Carlisle and Newcastle. Does the rule just apply to actual transfers ?
  9. Notice Mo Yaqub hasnt featured recently . Anyone know if he is injured . Thought he looked good.
  10. Wonder how many Aberdeen fans actually travelled from the North East .? I get annoyed hearing what a wonderful travelling support they have when we know most of them live in the central belt .
  11. Not listened to Off The Ball for ages . It stopped being funny and got repetitive. Fed up hearing about Motherwell ( and St Johnstone ) . Neither Cosgrove or Cowan know much about any other teams and both are up their own ar***.
  12. Agreed. Dont understand why DVZ seems to get less criticism than others . Just because he's a good guy doesnt mean to say he should be playing premier league football. I reckon we need both a right and centre back.
  13. And will again unless we do panic and get players in . Lots of time to think on the way back from Inverness. The following were just a few of those random thoughts. We have a manager who doesnt have a clue at this level . He can't identify good players, good enough for Premier League eg bringing in half the Cowdenbeath team . Adams and Butcher are streets ahead. He imagines we can emulate Barcelona , now Newcastle . We can't and never will. He says all the things he has to to keep him popular - we are wonderful fans , the Chairman is great etc . These are all empty as is the attempt to play the PROPER way . The Proper way is to play football that wins games. Despite all the great things said about our youth set up I don't see much , apart from John McGinn coming through . What I see is a bunch of wee guys lacking physique. Just because you come from Paisley or support St. Mirren does not mean you are a great St.Mirren player. I'm genuinly not having a go at anyone in particular but that seems to have been the way over the years. The club itself is stale , even on the non footballing side . Too many people too comfortable I think . The whole organisation needs a kick up the a***. Wont ramble on any more
  14. Me too. Still think Lennon failed to get the best out of both Carey and Imrie. Imrie has already come back to haunt . So will Carey .
  15. Agreed. Letting Carey go was an error of the highest order. Bringing in two inxperienced goalkeepers and no striker or left back was an error of the highest order. Bringing in half the Cowdenbeath team was an error of the highest order. Passing the ball around the back until the opposition get it is an error of the highest order. The person making these errors doesn't seem to be into learning from his mistakes .
  16. Naismith looked streets ahead of DVZ who seems to be everyones favourite presumably because he's a decent guy. DVZ needs a challenge to up his game .
  17. Fact is Imrie always played well against us before he signed and then tore us apart on Saturday. Graham Carey played well for us under previous management . Both did not play well under Danny which suggests he was unable to motivate / get the best out of them. Not the fault of Imrie or Carey. I think we have lost two of our potentially best players.
  18. Dont know if its just me but our under 20's look as if they need to all put on some weight if they are wanting to breakthrough. All the players seem slightly built whereas younger players coming through at other teams look like adults , not wee boys . John Mc Ginn proves me wrong but are any others physically ready?
  19. Me too but shouldn't have had to come to this. On reflection the club are wasting money going down to England if the opposition are of Morcambe's standard ( or Stockports). If they didnt bond after a week in Spain they aren't going to .
