  1. Hearts are still in administration. I don't think they need to pay off anyone's contract. It's simply a case of cutting the high earners - especially as you're getting no return over the summer.
  2. I understand the 'who else are we going to get' and 'what more do you expect from a team of our size' arguments but wouldn't it be nice if we could squeeze into the top 6 every now and then? After 8 attempts we don't seem anywhere closer to that. Is it too much to ask that we could match what teams like Livingston, Ross County, ICT, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone have all done?
  3. I won't remember last night as one of the best in my Saints supporting career. It took me half an hour to find a parking space then got completely soaked on the way to the ground. To top it all off I had to endure a totally inept performance, bereft of effort or commitment (Goodwin and Dilo aside). Our passing was slack, we held onto the ball too long and there was hee haw movement in general. Too many of them had given up after the weekend and I hope Danny takes stock of that before the Hearts game. A couple of changes to the starting 11 wouldn't be unfair. Fair play to Killie, they did what they had to do. It wasn't pretty but they stuck at it and got their reward. I still think Hibs will win on Saturday though. No matter the result on Saturday, this season won't be one to remember.
  4. That is the worst St Mirren strip since the bib. I don't know what depresses me more, the new strip or the thought of another 3 years being unable to buy a complete kids 2 days after its launched.
  5. Martinez is good with younger players and his managerial position looks very stable at the moment. That would be the one of those three that I'd pick if I were Mr McLean. God knows what you'd be going into at Spurs and Stoke would quickly rub away any creative thoughts that he had - look at Adam's transformation since he joined them.
  6. Do you really think so? I wouldn't be overly confident about playing Dundee/Hamilton/Falkirk. There have been enough SPFL teams losing to lower league teams this year never mind going into the game without any form or confidence. 9 points from the remaining 15 will see any of the 5 teams safe I think. It's just a question of who gets them.
  7. I did it last August and it was fantastic. We used a bag carrying service and stayed in hotels/b&bs. The split was: Day 1 Milngavie to Balmaha 20 miles Day 2 Balmaha to Inverarnan 20 miles Day 3 Inverarnan to Inveroran 21 miles Day 4 Inveroran to Kinlochleven 19 miles Day 5 Kinlochleven to Fort William 16 miles
  8. It's got hammering written all over it. One team unbeaten all season, going for 11 clean sheets in a row the other showing patchy form at best (optimist in me) and struggling to cover the pegs in the dressing room. But hey, this is football. Who went into the semi final last year thinking we'd put 3 past them? Sometimes things happen that nobody exepcts AND NOBODY EXPECTS US TO GET ANYTHING FROM THIS ONE.
  9. I'm praying that the whole Novo business is actually a genius bit of smoke screening from Danny. Everyone will be concentrating on the lunacy of that potential signing whilst Danny is secretly tying up the signing of three tremendously talented players that will be seen as a major coup for the club. Then again.......
  10. Will Stevenson miss our game on 1st Feb now?
  11. Think this'll be a cracking game. We've got a point to prove after being mugged in the first game against the jags this season. We seemed to have developed this horrible habit of bossing the first half of a game then capitulating in the second. As long as we keep going in 3-0 up at HT we'll be ok!!! Roll on Saturday.
  12. If the Wylde move comes off then I think it'll be a fingers crossed scenario for us. A promising youngster who put in some impressive performances in the SPL, his career has been in limbo since leaving Ibrox. We've seen it time and time again - young Scottish players who think they are the dugs baws by getting a few games with the big two then disappear up their own arse. If the signing happens then this should be viewed by Wylde as a fantastic opportunity for him to get his career back on track. All depends on his attitude and how interested he is.......
  13. I'd put money on that being an all time record seller - it's the dugs.
  14. Does that include shorts and socks? I'll be surprised.......
  15. I could write a book about the problems I've had with JD in recent seasons. Unfortunately it's now happened to a mate of mine too. I'm particularly annoyed about it this time as I introduced my friend and his two boys to the wonders of supporting St Mirren earlier this year (they used to have leanings to one of the OF) and they've loved it ever since. So much so that the boys have asked for kits for their Christmas and surprise, surprise, JD can't provide them. I really hope this doesn't dampen the boys enthusiasm. The sooner we can get back to a reliable supplier the better - there have been way too many fans left disappointed.
  16. I'm tempted for an each-way on the Johnsons, Zack and Dustin. European wise it would be Olesen for me and I've got a sneaky feeling Stephen Gallacher will do well. It'll be interesting to see how Adam Scott does now, his Open record is pretty good.
  17. We'll probably wear the 3rd kit when playing Aberdeen at home but can't see it being worn any other time other than friendlies. Why wouldn't we be wearing our home kit?
  18. We need to get in about them early on. Forget defending in numbers and hoping for the best. Have a go and play the football we know we're capable of. If we lose 3 or 4 nil so be it - at least we tried and the fans had something to shout about. I can't be arsed watching 11 behind the ball and no more than 3 passes being strung together before humping it up the park to one of their centre halves. That's no use to anybody. The best way to avoid losing a goal is to keep the ball in the oppositions's half! If we have a go and get stuck in early, we'll let them know they're in for a game. I can't see Hooper flinging himslef into challenges if there are still bids kicking about for serious money from EPL clubs.
  19. Problem with a 4-5-1 is that you invite the opposition onto your midfield and defence. Our defence isn't the greatest just now is it?...... Let's get our Tom Hendry heads on and go 4-3-3. They'll not be expecting that!!!!
  20. There won't bemuch work done in my office tomorrow morning after the Panorama programme tonight. It's pornography for Celtic fans.
