Percy Veer got a reaction from BigYardsAndBasher in St Mirren v Ross County SPFL PREMIERSHIP 14/8/22
Well done to the team. They played well and fought hard, putting their bodies on the line and putting in hard but fair tackles. I've been very impressed with Mark O'Hara and Jonah Ayunga so far. Jonah has a bit of trickery about him that seems to cause opposition defenders problems and his workrate is superb. I think if the team manage to get that workrate and performance more often than not, we'll be ok.

I'm not convinced Clark went in with any malice. It looked more like an unfortunate coming together between two players competing for the ball plus Clark had been "manhandled" by another Sevco International Franchise FC player just before the incident with Jack.
I fully agree with you regarding both Jack and the St. Johnstone player's roly poly antics. Embarrassing and cringeworthy to say the least.
Jack's "tackle" on the St. Johnstone player was a disgrace. No attempt to get the ball, just a typical Jack style assault on an opposition player. How Oor Wullie Collum didn't change his mind and change his yellow card to a red card after watching it on VAR, the mind boggles.

Percy Veer got a reaction from BigYardsAndBasher in Billy Thomson
Billy Thomson was before my time unfortunately but I've heard plenty about him and I did see him as an opponent of St. Mirren a few times. I didn't know he was from Linwood, which I've just read on the article shared by Balmullo Bud above.
My thoughts are with his family, friends and former teammates. As has been pointed out already, he was still young and him and Frank McGarvey are a loss. Pelé must be forming a great side up above us.
R.I.P.

I would have said Frank McGarvey, Peter Weir, Andy Dorman, Doug Somner, Frank McAvennie but they've all been suggested so I'll opt for Brian Gallagher.

Shull,
I have to do a slight "climbdown"!
After viewing programme covers of various teams I've come to the conclusion that action pictures of previous fixtures between the two teams involved on the day (if there are photographs of previous encounters available) is the way ahead.
I'd rather it was from "yesteryear" though as opposed to one season ago. For example, we play Hibernian at home on Saturday, the 4th of February, 2023. For the front cover of the matchday programme, couldn't we have a picture of the same two teams that played on the same date in the past or if there isn't an exact same date, why not select a random picture from the 1960s/1970s/1980s/1990s?

I don't have this one in my collection, unfortunately. It was well before my time and I envy anyone who was there to witness such a historic event.

Shull should be in charge of all St. Mirren Matchday programmes.🏆

The ITN news interviewed their oldest fan. I love stories like that, people who have followed their club all their life and they're not a fan of one of the "huge clubs". Heartwarming.

Who kept hitting my car in the Love Street car park every time he crossed the ball ?
Is the question.

Great shout.
John McGinn's big arse dragging other players into play and creating havoc in both boxes would be my choice.

Pick any former St Mirren player from any era to play and help the present team for the remainder of this Season and get us a European place and may help us win the Scottish Cup.
I really think we are dying out for a prolific striker.
So for me, it's got to be...

I would have had a little respect for you, not much mind but a little, if you had simply told the truth that you used to post under two different names and you got banned using at least one of them. You're incapable of doing that so as I posted in reply to you before, anything you have to say now can't be trusted.
As for putting me on ignore, we both know that you will continue reading all of my posts and make references to me and what I post. That's exactly what you do to Bazil. Of course, now that I've said that, you'll probably try your hardest not to read anything I post and not make reference to me but let's be honest (well I'll be honest as let's face it being honest is something you struggle with Slartibartfast/Sluttybuttfest) you will, just like you do with Bazil.
I would say to you that I'll not miss your feedback but there's probably no point in me saying that as we both know you'll continue to comment on me and anything I post.
Have a good day Slartibartfast/Sluttybuttfest/Slarti or whatever other names you like to go by. Take it easy.
