  1. The panel is three independent individuals from a list of approved persons with a judicial / legal background. AFAIK the list is used for other arbitration matters not just by the SFA.
  2. He's 35 in a few weeks so obviously a short term signing.
  3. Funnily enough he grew up as a fan of the blue bigots. Probably gets a free season ticket.
  4. I hope his workrate has rubbed off on some of the rest of the squad. God loves a trier so I hope it works out for him there. He's played there before so they know what they're getting. The question is - what are we getting in return? Brophy or someone else? Just on judging a player in 5 minutes, Brian Clough reckoned he could spot a player by his second touch. If he needed one he wasn't good enough!
  5. In there many of a time in my youth, only ever had a drink once as it was really a bit of a dive, but there was this machine on the wall in the gents ....................
  6. When I was young the music played on the Christmas / New Year TOTP was mostly rubbish too. Popular music is and always has been crap. It's made by the music industry, not musicians, and it's made to make money from those who spend their pocket money on the latest thing. In the 60's it was aimed principally at young girls. It's not so sexist these days. From the mid 60's I got in to alternative music and lots of people in school at at youth clubs thought it was crap 'cos you couldn't dance to it. Witin a few years I think most of the males of my generation were listening to non-pop stuff. Ironically I can now listen to, and like, the stuff my dad listened to - Sinatra, Big Ella, Bobby Darin and others of the swing generation.
  7. And how! The Chump of the Remove got what he wanted - a last minute deal that will receive little or no democratic scrutiny so he can continue to bluff and bluster about how great a deal it is and how he is going to make the "UK great again". Ring any bells for anyone. When the various sectors of the economy realise what is in the fine print and start to ask very awkward questions he might just take the Chiltern Hundreds and bugger off to to a cushy life being protected (morally and financially) by those right wing idealists who funded and championed him for the last ten years, the dodgy Russians included.
  8. You coulod have been in there! I think she plays with two feet as they say. Has written a lot about female sexuality and owned the Erotic Review for a while and still has a senior job there. Oooh Matron!
  9. Flying Officer Copstick was definitely on the corner of Causeyside st and Gordon Street and it's the only dental practice I've ever attended albeit he retired in the early 80's I think. I believe he was RAF trained, probably during the war, so they might have skipped a few tutorials. He was not the most gentle of dentists it's true but when you first visit a dentist as a kid in the mid-50's, there were a lot of "horse doctors" plying their trade. I think thats probably why dentists are feared by many people. I had an old boss who was commissioned for his national service in the 50's. After his first visit to an army dentist he had all his teeth taken out and got gnashers instead. They basically terrified him.
  10. On a more serious noteI think squash is still trying for Olympic recognition as is cricket, the second biggest spectator in the world. On a less serious note the Olympics used to have several odd sports; Rope Climbing Tug of War Underwater Swimming Hot Air Ballooning Solo Synchronised Swimming The Arts, including gold medals for Painting, Architecture and Town Planning!!!!! Perhaps this new dancin' on yir back sport is an attempt to bring back the frivolities of the first half of the 20th Century.
  11. In my opinion you are not disputing any subject or topic but involved in a personal dispute about a post which cannot be resolved by constant "you said - no I didn't " posts. Nothing personal.
  12. I think it's pointless arguing about it on a football fans website. It's a personal dispute between two individuals and not a public barny.
  13. Couldn't we start a new section for pointless, vindictive arguments?
  14. Have you seen the Man U strip strip recently?
  15. No chance. Craig White pocketed that years ago. 🤑
  16. It is obvious that there has been a total lack of leadership of at the business end of the club. We were given a series of protocols to follow and it would appear that no procedures were implemented to ensure that the playing staff adhered to them. The leadership must come from the top but sadly we don't have that. I don't blame Tony - it has to be laid at the door of the people who appointed him. Over to you Smisa and the Kibble.
  17. The alleged discrepancies are described as historical so Kibble could not have been involved. Also, the discrepancies were highlighted during the audit process with which Kibble cannot be involved. The audit must be undertaken by a completely independent firm, with no ties to any of the the directors, board appointed members or employees. Some of the posts above should be signed Donald Trump!!!!
  18. No, that's down to David Martindale who apparently pulls the strings and has done for years. Taken over the team and the club is in "no rush" to make an appointment? Take from that what you will.
  19. Actually, I rather think the way the great Hungarian team of the 50's, the Mighty Magyars, were turned into world beaters by playing as a team on a regular basis against Junior League sides, works teams and anybody else that could be found at short notice. Now, the fact that at the time it was an Iron Curtain country and everybody did what the Government said, or else, probably helped a great deal. Now, wee Nicky has been practicing this for the last eight months so perhaps we might have a chance of adopting this philosophy in the near future. 🚔
  20. Football, in its current form, needs more investment to run a competitive club than revenue streams can support. Most successful clubs at our level need regular external investment to sustain improved competitiveness. I presume that's why Kibble are on board.
