  1. He's obviously referring to the friendly. Completely out of order the way that wee runt McCann sent his players out, probably has a chip on his shoulder since he was 2nd choice. You want friendlies to be played in a competitive but safe manner - it's hard enough getting a good team out on the park without having them injured in friendlies.
  2. Agreed. As I said already, I have no gripe with that gentlemens agreement, worked for both parties. But as we all know we gave him away cheaply to do the right thing - Aberdeen as the beneficiaries surely should not have been hard to deal with on a sell on clause?
  3. Exactly this. Gentleman's agreement was fine for both parties - but not so Aberdeen could take advantage and get a free ride. A 10% sell on clause is bog standard these days. If that's all the board got when handing him over in good will to Aberdeen then it is pathetic. They done well with McGinn. I certainly won't be applauding 10% from this deal, never mind any less
  4. The bookies don't know or care much about lower Scottish league form - this is just an opening book. The punters will determine the real price
  5. Indeed. Our resident village idiot back with another hilarious post. He must have all his imaginary friends in knots
  6. These odds are shit - but they are just opening ones from one bookie. They'll drift out I think, maybe 9/2 or 5/1. Was never going to be 10's it's no a charity. Utd are decent value.
  7. Yes, think it's more likely the official tweet is correct
  8. Whys Rabinho getting abuse? The tweet clearly shows he signed an extension last year until 2019. Happy days
  9. We'll be under 10's. Bookies don't pay much attention to lower league Scotland but they're not that daft. There will certainly be value though
  10. Topcat. Do yourself a favour and admit you got it wrong. Noone gets it right all the time, there is no shame in it. Alex Rae never reached anywhere near the form we have had since January, statistically or otherwise and everyone knows this. Enjoy the turnaround and one of the most exciting teams we've seen for a long time. And stop hiding behind stats. I could write a program to calculate opinions based purely on stats. It takes human beings, and in this case fans, to be able to look beneath stats, understand the mitigating factors, and come out with a far more educated and useful perspective.
  11. Glad to see more people finally realising that the performance of our academy is sub-standard to say the least. I'd go further and say that given our investment and facilities our return is pathetic. I've made the point before that bringing players through who are only good enough for our first team isn't really winning - we'd be cheaper just signing players on frees. We only see a return if we actually bring money in for a player. When is the last time we actually brought through a genuinely top-drawer player that had interest from a number of clubs? Even McLean and McGinn we struggled to sell. In the last 25 years there are few clubs in our range who have done that poorly. Yet Longwell seems untouchable for his performance. I don't know the detail of the academy but Longwell is supposed to be head so he's the first person I'd hold responsible yet all we ever hear is what a good job he's doing. And as for the quotes he's accredited for saying elsewhere on this thread - I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he never actually said all that about the Hamilton set up. There must be some mistake - he can't be that deluded and blind surely? "Hamilton's set up is actually much worse than ours and people have only paid all these fees because of the hype??" He can't have said that - can he? Regardless, consistent poor performance should lead to change. Why is our academy any different?
  12. Is it indeed? Well you can still get 50% return on that with most bookies, why don't you fill your boots?
  13. Get through to Edinburgh, put a wager, (a small wager, don't bet the hoose), on St Mirren at 7/1, enjoy the beautiful weather, the vast selection of good pubs on the way and get behind yer team. After midweek, this game is a come down for Hibs in a league they can't win - we can catch them on the hop. f**k me its miserable on here - the season is still young. Plenty time for doom and gloom after the game if we lose. Follow above instructions and it just might be a cracking day.
  14. What's the point of this pish? It's well known you make stuff up for a laugh but spouting pishy transfer exclusives to brighten up your life is fairly harmless. This is just destructive and some people might actually believe it has a source other than your tiny mind. Advance apologies if I've missed another hilarious joke.
  15. It's cerainly possibly a feasibly. Definely.
  16. Where did you get that bollox from? Unless I missed a few months of my life that didn't happen...
  17. Some o the comments on here are a bit ridiculous to be honest. Some folk havnae even seen the guy and want to sign him on the basis that he is tall. I'm happy Murray is being fussy.
  18. Liam Buchanan signed for Livingston because it allowed him to stay semi-part-time and still be able to get to Edinburgh to keep his PT business going. Had nothing to do with finance or contract length.
  19. Yes I think I would but I'd go earlier. In the end it comes down to supply and demand doesn't it? If I was getting turned away regularly, no I wouldn't go back, but in that case we are doing well aren't we? I'd just rather see this run as something closer to a public bar for supporters. We are undoubtedly limiting our custom here as I am the same as a lot of others who go with a group of friends - it is either all in, or all out.
  20. Fair play to the fans council for getting something moving on this. However I think this is going in the wrong direction. I'd have happily contributed the same amount if this was open to all supporters, or at the very least you could bring a guest. This model has to alienate a lot of people who would have signed up and I think the end result will be a bar that is under capacity on match days, ultimately meaning lost revenue for the club. I'd much rather have one that had people being turned away because it is crammed full of folk buying drinks. Good luck but I'm out.
  21. We're not a charity. It is never nice when people lose their jobs but what's done is done. Unfortunately due to mistakes made by the board they'll now need to make difficult decisions - but these have to be based on what is best to take the club forward, not sentiment.
  22. Holy f**k, you are raising the bar high there.
  23. To Lewis McLear if you happen to be reading this.... Please ignore the posters on this thread who clearly couldn't spot talent if it came up and bit them on the arse. Great piece of business. For a change.
