  1. I'd also heard we were in for Halkett (probably read it on here or on Twitter so no idea how true it was). I dunno how much of the changes Stubbs made were down to him genuinely not rating our players and how much was fuelled by some Damned United style bloody mindedness to do the exact opposite of what Jack Ross had done.
  2. I have LPM on ignore, has he posted since last night?
  3. The McGinns put the boot in: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48416800
  4. Ah, is that who it was? I assumed it was Stuart Dickson.
  5. There's an extra bit in one of the papers I found amusing: "I remember talking about Cammy Smith at the time when I was trying to do a bit of wheeling and dealing to try and get one out and one in. “And it was all ‘Oh but Cammy was our Player of the Year last year’. “But you look at the teams that were looking to take those players, it was all Championship teams. I think that really tells you a lot." Yes Alan - but we couldn't even get Championship teams to take the duds you had landed us with! We had to send Heaton back to non-league and Kpeweka followed him and has now been binned! Good to see him once again saying he isn't bitter.
  6. Surely time to ditch Interstadia. I had a look earlier to see how many clubs they had and it seems it's us, Morton and Partick Thistle. They don't even seem to have a website - interstadia.co.uk just directs you to the Saints ticket website!
  7. It truly amazes me people still respond to Lex's Trump style bombastic bullshit and bluster.
  8. Crap first half, better second and even then tried to throw it away. Play-off is anyone's guess. Play like we did in the first half and we'll get battered. Play like we did at the start of the second and we'll have a good chance.
  9. Yeah, it's hardly the most convincing denial so maybe there is some truth to it after all. Still doesn't detract from my rant on the other thread about folk being far too willing to believe random Twitter accounts.
  10. And this is the key point. The account in question was registered in January this year and has 546 followers on Twitter. He has less than me FFS! It's incredible this has gained so much traction and the guy is probably having a good laugh at what he's done. It is incredible the number of people who believe these ITK accounts and folk pretending to be agents when they are making stuff up. Often folk who scream about fake news and not believing the papers are more than willing to take the word of these eejits as gospel - although in this case we now seem to be down to just one eejit on here who believes it.
  11. Today's Dilbert seems rather appropriate considering this nonsense.
  12. Would never have considered most of the places listed in the prize list as being in south west or south east Scotland! It's opened as the Phat Bhuna. I noticed at the weekend part of it seemed to have opened, which I'm guessing is that bit. The part nearest the main road is still all shut and the sign is down.
  13. The awards organisers are ushing it a bit to say Paisley is in the south west of Scotland. Either that or all the Indian restaurants in Ayrshire and D&G are pish (which they're not). Anyone know what's happening to Grill in the Park near Canal Street Station? Used to be good for lunch but it's shut. Facebook page said they would be shut for a few weeks for refurbishment but that was two months ago.
  14. There were 30 seconds left at most when Magennis scored. I was surprised the referee played on as long as he did afterwards - I assumed he'd just let Motherwell kick-off and that would be it. A month or so Queen of the South scored an equaliser in time added on for Falkirk extensively celebrating what they thought would be a stoppage time winner, so really we should be criticising the players for not spending five minutes milking the applause so there'd be plenty of time to bag another goal
  15. It would be fine. Just get div to install an ignore function in the boardroom.
  16. Dundee haven't exactly been doing much better financially over the last few years under their American owners (who I seem to recall were interested in Saints at one point) rather than fan ownership. A loss of more than £750,000 in the past two seasons and that's after raking in more than £1million in player sales! I appreciate we've not exactly posted impressive financial results after the player sales of the last few years but we're nowhere near as bad as that.
  17. That should be the case but going by this the only team inducted is the first ever St Mirren team. http://www.stmirren.info/id318.html
  18. Fairly obvious our captain is criticising guys like Baird, Flynn and the other McGinn for not being fluent in Czech and Romanian.
  19. Why on earth isn't he in it already?! Far more deserving than some folk who are in it or about to be inducted. Given the auction is next week, I can see a whole can of worms being opened if SMISA use their money for it without getting member agreement. Of course, the same folk who would criticise them for going down that road would also moan if they didn't bid and they end up with someone else!
  20. That's pretty worrying, not that I'm in a position to talk as I wasn't there. First time I went was in 2015 and you could pretty much have had your own table in hospitality so few folk were there. 2016 was busy because Buy the Buds was being launched, 2017 there was a good turnout too and not sure about last year as I couldn't make it. Kinda confirms my theory that, rightly or wrongly, the vast majority of the members aren't that fussed about the runnings of SMiSA and some of the stuff discussed in ridiculous debates on here but are quite happy just to pay their money and have no further involvement.
  21. Wonder if the technical director had a say in this?
  22. Think that's what he had when he was with us first time around and it was manageable - then he went to Derby who seemed to feel it could be fixed with an operation and that's why he was out for so long.
  23. saintmirren.net, which is the server the forum was on (as opposed to the main site, which is on stmirren.com) was owned and paid for by the late Kenny Pointon. The renewal has now expired and needs to be sorted out. Nothing more sinister than that. Can't say I miss the OS forum as I was reading it less and less thanks to Dickson, although it was funny seeing "our" and "we" creeping into the posts of a man who definitely was not a St Mirren fan.
  24. https://www.gsp.ro/fotbal/liga-1/exclusiv-dinamo-a-mai-cedat-un-jucator-laurentiu-corbu-a-fost-imprumutat-la-st-mirren-558881.html Put into Google Translate and you get: Dinamo escaped an undesirable. Right-back Laurentiu Corbu, 24, was loaned until the end of the season at St. Mirren, in the first league in Scotland, where two weeks ago, and the late Mihai Popescu. Although Laurenţiu Corbu is the defender of Dinamo who made the most mistakes this season in League One, Mircea Rednic announced that he did not rely on his services, so the defender did not travel to Antalya camp. In the last period, the right defender was trained separately in Săftica, under the command of the second Iulian Mihăescu, along with the other undesirable from the lot, Katsikas and Pesici. Laurenţiu Corbu is at Dinamo in 2015 when he was brought from Urban Titu. This season, Corbu scored 13 matches. St. Mirren is ranked last in Scotland's first league, with 12 points in 23 matches. Both Corbu and Popescu were brought to St. Mirren by FIFA agent Antonis Antoniou.
