  1. . My Grannie stayed just round the corner and I must have walked past them a few times and never noticed them. An architect told me about them recently and I went for a look-see and to take some shots. Very impressed with these and the others on display some of which I shall show later.
  2. PIC 137 is Williamsburgh Court. Pleasantly surprised by the new appearance as its very unlike our Council to do anything good with buildings. Where would you find this wonderful series of carvings telling a lovely wee story ..... PICTURE 138 EDIT: Sorry, Not displayed in the correct order that they were uploaded in, but I am sure you can work out the story! (Should be 4,2,1,3,5,6)
  3. Experience is crucial and we are by far the most experienced team in Scottish football over the last 10 years in relegation dogfights .... and staying up. And the fans are the most experienced in providing support when it really matters. Collectively we have the mental strength to win this battle .....again.
  4. The new club could very well be starting at the bottom when they go bust ...again. Kenny would be off his head to go there.
  5. We could finish 7th in the League - our highest position in the SPL/SPFL. Would that change anyone's opinion on whether Danny goes or stays?
  6. Thank you Aberdeen . Well done. Pity you only scored 2 though but still a good night
  7. I can see UWS being inundated with applications from Paisley Buddies all well over the normal student age group for courses for next year. Shull has already got his application in
  8. The club was in this magnificent building .... http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sealed/mansions/kilnside.htm
  9. Apparently Erik just made up words for titles for his music Must say this has literally moved me to tears ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miLV0o4AhE4&feature=kp Gorecki's Symphony No 3
  10. Listen to this Poz after a game - great way to chill out ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLFVGwGQcB0 or my favourite .... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyUNbrgLezI Same Composer ... Erik Satie
  11. Goodwin PROTECTS the back four. No-one else playing there does that. Mclean does not come over to cover gaps when the likes of Kelly bombs forward. He stays in the middle and tries to generate attacks but that is not the primary role of that position.
  12. The point I am making is we did not trouble their keeper very much. If we do not get shots on target we don't score. Constantly players in decent shooting positions kept trying to cross it to Thommo even when they were in the 18 yard box or they pass sideways to avoid responsibility. Our Goals Scored record proves we do not shoot enough. Sclaffs are all very well when they come off and I am happy to accept however the ball ends up in the net but for goodness sake start shooting - preferably on target! Edit to add: the highlights are very deceptive for once because they do look as if we made a game of it which was the opposite of the reality.
  13. I have no intention of splitting hairs with you and I look at games with St Mirren biased eyes. Their keeper only made one save the other night from McGinn. A defender also cleared a header from McGinn. Mclean hammered a cross across goal which was not on target. Newton tried a cross which hit a defender and went over the bar. Besides that we had a couple of headers off target. As I said previously - one shot on target in 90 mins.
  14. Up until now - 136 different buildings - most have been Listed or have local historical significance. This image breaks that trend for now. I passed by this building last week and thought how imposing it looked. No clues - this is it in its full glory PICTURE 137
  15. I do not want to be overly critical just pointing out he was at least as bad as the others in my opinion. Possibly one of the worst team performances I have seen in a long time considering what is at stake here. No confidence, constantly giving the ball away, passing it out the park, refusing to shoot from anywhere outside the 2 yard box - one shot on target in 90mins!!! The thing is, I reckon we have some decent players out there. How come we were a total shadow of the team that played pretty well (up to a point anyway) in the previous 3 games?
  16. I could not come on here last night as I was disgusted with the performance served up. Lucky if one or two managed a rating of 1 out of 10. And I do not mean to single out Mclean but am surprised at the number of people who thought he was one of the better players last night. Unlike Goodwin who moves from his position in front of the back four to whatever side an attack is coming down to break it up, Kenny stays static in his position leaving both flanks exposed. Felt sorry for Kelly last night as he was willing to have a go forwards but was totally exposed when we lost the ball. Goodwin would have been coveing these gaps. And Kenny over-hit the balll constantly with his world-cup passes. Its ok to pass to a team mate Kenny, who is 5 yards away, and its ok to keep a cross under the height of the stand and in the park. Mclean has been very good in 2.5 of of the previous 3 games but he was woeful last night. And sadly one of ten or eleven.
  17. Come on guys. You are all being a bit unreasonable. We had one shot on target during the whole 90 mins last night. If we had scored we could have drawn. What makes you think we need a striker? PS Gary Teale for me instead of Mcginnis or Campbell.
  18. I do not think there will be much more discussion as I suggest it isn't happening. As I stated in a previous post I did not hear the full comments wee Chick made the other night due to plenty other noise going on, but it was something along the lines of an approach had been made but there was not much chance of it being considered/accepted. He reckoned that story would simply vanish. Considering the little I know of the people involved I have confidence that ouir Board would not sell to anyone that did not have the Club at heart and there seems little substance to the Cowdenbeath people having any such leaning. Conjecture here - so why publish the story? Maybe to generate interest and put some pressure on the Swiss deal?
  19. All our rivals beaten so it could have been a hell of a lot worse
  20. PICTURE 136 is Greenlaw House, the mansion on Mansionhouse Rd. B Listed. Built 1774 for Robert Corse a rich Paisley merchant. Now private flats. I think Buddiecat knew what it was
  21. Missed the complete story but the bold Chick was sceptical on Radio Scotland there about an imminent takeover by the Cowdenbeath Mob .
  22. I have faith in the current BoD and I am sure they would, like the rest of us, never do anything that would put the club in danger. Maybe this is just a stalking horse to get the Swiss to get the finger out.
