  1. I only understand metric weights and measures.
  2. How tall is he? We have quite a few short arses in our squad, some decent height required IMO.
  3. Agnew was the clear MOM for us today, and also Baird looked very solid. The result represents a decent start to Murray's time in charge but I won't get overexcited about our overall team performance bearing in mind the standard of the opposition. Also he seems to be building a squad of lightweights and short arses that could be ill-equipped for the physicality of the Championship. Sadly Thompson looked even slower and less alert than before, a spent force I fear.
  4. Happy birthday Willie R. You're catching up on us auld yins.
  5. The orange muppets will be traipsing through Glasgow city centre today, no doubt creating a din with their flutes and drums. Looking ridiculous and getting very wet, I hope. If so, well worth celebrating.
  6. Delaney's donkey no more. R.I.P. Val.
  7. I thought this was a thread about hill walking.
  8. This is surely nothing more than a straightforward commercial arrangement. As far as I am concerned, if the price is right, we should fill our boots. As has been posted a few times already, this signage is a blight on our stadium for a couple of weeks only, after which it will be removed and the final outcome will be that St Mirren will have gained financially.
  9. As the man once said, "if it's culture you want go to the pictures". http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-33269465
  10. I wonder if any of you witnessed this belter. Poor old Pearce suffered a collossal "foot in mouth" moment last night commenting on the England v Norway women's world cup match live on BBC3 tv. With about an hour played, England had just gone 0-1 down and the Norwegians were piling on the pressure trying to kill the game. Pearce was critical of England's defending. "The cracks are beginning to show". I had a close look but I couldn't spot any. England eventually won 2-1.
  11. Let's wait and see. My first impression is that one of the promising products of our youth system is being denied his opportunity of a first team breakthrough.
  12. Didn't Ronnie Deila slag off the quality of pitches in Scotland last season immediately after his mob played at St Mirren Park. So Celtic's pitch is so poor it needs to be relaid. And Celtic choose St Mirren Park to play their pre-season show games while they replace their tatty field. Ironic ?
  13. Did she give you a decent tip on top of the normal fare ?
  14. Should we trust someone who can't spell Foxbar ?
  15. Ray McKinnon ? Surprising choice !! Pay compensation ? Aye right !! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32820581
  16. Noooooooooooooo !!! We need a clearout from the top downwards. Yesterday's men are responsible for us being relegated. The rot may have started with Tommy Craig in charge but Gary Teale's leadership failed to reverse the slide. Rebuild for the future with a whole new management team who can take over without any 'baggage'.
  17. The Labour Party have learned nothing from the fiasco of appointing Michael Foot as their leader 35 years ago. Foot was unelectable as the UK's prime minister, but despite the lessons of history the Labour Party's undemocratic membership voting system allowed the trades unions to appoint Ed Miliband, another unelectable wally whom the nation's voters couldn't take seriously. And who in the Labour ranks thought it would be a good idea to boost their electoral chances by sending up from down south a cross-dressing comedian (allegedly), who paraded alongside the ultra-charismatic Jim Murphy in Glasgow city centre looking like a 30 bob tart ? No wonder it has been a shoo-in for the SNP.
  18. Hot Chocolate was one of those groups that everybody knew Errol Brown was lead singer but nobody could name any other member.
  19. Delusional fantasists x 2. Just say no, don't do drugs. Or drive minicabs. If we can finish somewhere in the top 5 of the Championship next season we should be satisfied. Indeed, after the clearout and rebuilding with young, inexperienced talent (which has to happen soon), we may be glad to escape a second straight relegation. Please BOD, no signings of ageing duds, just perhaps one or two old heads in place to lead by example (like a Jimmy Bone or a Tommy Turner or Andy Millen) and a squad of promising, hard-working kids will do for me.
  20. Watching the sh!t on display is bad enough, why would you want to listen to more of it ?
  21. Tonight has to be Teale's last game in charge. Bring in a replacement manager with previous club management experience ASAP. Teale was a novice who was handed a poisoned chalice after TC was fired. He should have turned down Gilmour's offer of the job as he was doomed to fail and he has probably scuppered his chances of ever being offered another post in management. We need someone in charge who understands that a team needs a strong backbone, who has a strong personality and is prepared to clear out the (enormous pile of) dead wood we have at the moment, and who has the board's backing to do whatever it takes to rebuild a squad for the future. Our target for promotion should be realistic, give the new man 3 or 4 seasons to create a squad capable of achieving promotion from the Championship.
  22. Wilburetta and I are going to see Henning Wehn at the Citizens tonight, a venue I haven't been to for many years. I don't know if car parking will be a headache. Can anyone offer suggestions for whereabouts there might be places to park in the vicinity ?
