  1. I feel faint. Did you ask if season tickets were valid ?
  2. In my opinion 'Tourney' is a bogging word, shull. A hideous American abbreviation with no place in the English language.
  3. Disappointed that Keane won't be coming to Glasgow. A real Point-and-Laugh opportunity missed for the fans of all other Premiership clubs. Although I still quite like Somewhere Only We Know,

  5. My memory isn't what it used to be but I think I remember seeing TF losing it completely against Rangers around the time his lad was seriously ill. Fitzy (as I recall it) just started running after Derek Johnstone for no apparent reason, chasing him around the parrk with the ball nowhere near them. I don't think his son's illness was public knowledge at that time. He was red-carded and we awaited a mega-suspension, but the incident seems to have been brushed under the carpet when Tony's circumstances came to light and no further charges were ever brought against Fitzy. However, I am very old and my memory could be playing it's tricks on me.
  6. If only l hadn't gone to the cinema instead.
  7. Hibs fans now have something in common with us........................ don't mention HAM***** .
  8. I thought this thread was about Oliver Reed and Julian Clary.
  9. As Mason Boyne might have pointed out, 'Hay' (spit) is a 3 letter word. Like 'fud'.
  10. I wouldn't trust any info from someone called Raman Twitter.
  11. 100% agree. If he ever returns to Paisley as the manager of an opposing side he can surely expect a warm welcome from our fans.
  12. I have to wonder if Craig Levein perhaps knew some time ago that Gary Locke was being sacked. Despicable Levein.
  13. Just speculating, if the BoD did decide to let DL go and Hibs screw up the play-off, TB out at Easter Road and DL parachuted in ? Wee Danny might shine at championship level.
  14. Good stats WP, but I don't think those will be the focal point of any meeting held by the BoD to decide on DL's future at St Mirren. Those 4 seasons have seen some terrific individual results, top league survival and a national trophy on the plus side. On the negative side, too many expensive turkeys signed, too many awful team performances, too many late goals conceded, and disappointment that we have been under-performing compared to teams like Ross County, ICT, St Johnstone. Basically too many gloomy Saturday nights with that sick feeling in the stomach. I think he's gone.
  15. I find it strange that SG would agree to be interviewed live on the radio when it is obvious that he would be quizzed on something he probably wouldn't want to be drawn on this week. Awkward for him and awkward for DL too.
  16. Maybe so Eric but let me make two points. 1. It would have been easy for the Hearts players to down tools and allow more motivated opponents to walk all over them after their relegation was sealed. They haven't done that. If they had we would still be crapping ourselves because a few other teams would be 3 points better off than they are at present. 2. I agree 100% that their fans loved it when Mad Vlad splashed the cash and allowed Hearts to pee all over teams like ours that played by the financial rules. Ditto Dundee (a.k.a. Argentina) a decade ago. This season however, without the associated glory, their fans have actually supported their team in huge numbers. I say credit where it is due.
  17. I think I may have hit on the perfect solution. Based on the way St Mirren have recently started to play like Real Madrid we should keep DL on as team coach/manager and let Lex choose the players DL has under him. Simples !
  18. Hearts have done brilliantly this season under a string of handicaps. Only the 15 point penalty has prevented a team made up mainly of kids staying up. Their manager and their supporters actually deserve praise rather than humiliation. And we should thank them for continuing to dig in after their relegation eas confirmed because their recent form is the only reason we are safe with two games to spare. Thanks Hearts, here's hoping you manage to humiliate the blue-noses next season and return as champions..
  19. A couple of highlights from TB's pre-match thoughts ahead of Hibs trip up to Dingwall (courtesy of bbc sports website). "We all know what will happen if we win the game and that is a huge carrot for us to chase." Chasing carrots ? WTF ? Almost as bad as Celtic playing at home would expect to have the lion's share of the den (copyright Mr D Lennon). "I've used the cup final analogy to motivate the players before and it hasn't really worked, but we know the importance of the match and what we have to do." The cup final analogy hasn't worked ? Unbelievable as Hibs have been so devastating in their last two Scottish cup finals. Is TB losing it altogether ?
  20. In the papers at the weekend Killie are planning to have an artificial pitch next season as well.
  21. With our future in the top division now confirmed I would expect (if any/all of the rumours are true) that we could see a number of important developments in the very near future. Is St Mirren on the verge of being sold ? Will we see Swiss Tony and his fellow Toblerone-chompers put pen to paper and seal the deal ? Or is there someone else lurking in the background with money to burn ? Will it still be DL in the manager's office or is someone else already lined up ? What about players who will leaving the club ? Who is getting shown the door, who will be offered new contracts ? Who is deciding on new players for next season ? Will we see Harkins back in Paisley or could he stay at Oldham ? Exciting times, but please get things moving ASAP to get a stable structure in place long before next season's kick-off.
  22. Poor girl. Health issues blighted her tennis career, and now this. Very sad indeed.
