  1. Exactly. Portion control, cutting out high processed foods and being more active (walking is ideal) led to me losing 3 stone in a year. It's a lifestyle change and not dieting. Eat the things you enjoy but control how much you eat to cut down on sugar, fat and carbs.
  2. I don't think AF would be worrying about his football CV at this late stage of his career.
  3. You may be right but 2 managers didn't feel he was good enough and no other Premier club offered him a deal (AFAIK). Only time will tell. There is perhaps a larger step up from the Championship to Premier League and hence why OK has rid us of players simply not at the required level.
  4. Nice to see your consistent negativity brought into 2019. Keep up the good work.
  5. You need to factor in the wages released by all those who have left. That'll pay for several new players.
  6. Understand your point. It's also similar to transfer market dates and deadlines which some see as discrimination against employment rights. However, I understand that clubs wanted these in place to prevent a continuous and possible disruptive transfer market throughout the season from players moving from and to clubs when promotion, relegation and European places are being fought for.
  7. I am sure Gus and OK will have assessed him.
  8. Ian, it's the 7th Jan mate. There is likely to be a lot happening behind the scenes. Plenty of time yet. Also, it's just the end of the Xmas period with people going back to work. Only time will tell but I wouldn't despair yet.
  9. Personally, I am patient enough and would rather we brought the right players in rather than do a Stubbs and bring in a lot of sub standard ones. Noone knows what work is being done behind the scenes at the club but I am confident that OK, Gus and others are working hard. Having allowed Stubbs to waste money on so many poor signings, I feel the club has learned from this and taking a bit more time.
  10. Surely he deserves more game time and get up to speed and fitness to judge that comment? If he was 'shite' don't you think the manager - best person to judge - would have had him on his list of players to go?
  11. Better than 1987? Do you remember the following season which ended Alex Smith's reign? Now, that was brutal football.
  12. There is a difference between being sacked (normally associated with dismissal during a fixed contract) and completing your tenure and not being offered a new contract.
  13. Diving has been in the game for as long as I have watched football. I don't condone it and in an age of snowflake overpaid footballers it happens all over the world. How you stop it will be down to managers having the balls to deal with their offending players. However, with player power it is as likely as stopping gobbing and faking injury.
  14. Bournemouth with a capacity of 10,000 are outperforming Newcastle, Southampton and a number of other bigger clubs. A good manager who can identify good players, is tactically aware and brings stability can make a smaller club more successful than bigger clubs. A bit like us in late 70s and early 80s when we competed against the bigot brothers.
  15. Yes, I did watch the game. The simple answer is that we do not have (in certain positions) players good enough for this league. Outplayed too. I dont want us to be relegated but on the basis of our performances so far, we look out of our depth.
  16. He can only work with what he has player wise. The recruitment pre season was shambolic and that's not OK's fault. I have no doubt the board know we are a mess and have agreed with OK that it's a medium to long term objective to produce a team good enough to survive in the top league. It may even be accepted that we are likely to go down and OK will be around to take us forward.
  17. And exactly where will Dundee Utd (threat of administration mentioned again by some football media this week) get the money to buy a red hot Shank's amongst others? It must be costing them a fortune in wages already. If they don't get promoted (think Highland teams will do so) then they will go bust.
  18. Might want to add The Fakes too. Imagine the meltdown if we lost 6-0 at home?
  19. The ones in the top photo were the fools who were lambs to the slaughter. Fools? You serious?
