  1. Also 11 in 33 games for Queens Park (as a 17/18 year old) and 7 in 13 games for Dunfermline..........for a young lad he certainly knows his way to goals!!
  2. I think, if the Thistle figures are anywhere near accurate, that there will be a crowd of over 5000 (maybe even a bit more) which with the way we've been performing isn't too bad. I know of four "Saturday golfers" going because it is on Friday and I'm sure there will be some amateur footballers in the same position. What would be good would be a decent signing either today or tomorrow to get some enthusiasm with one or two of the "dis-contents" and get them to come along too (although I know that may be unlikely!!).
  3. Let's just assume for a minute that it is the case.........where are you getting your information that the BoD are holding up the appointment of an Assistant Manager, I haven't heard anything with regard to it other than the "2 plus 2" assumptions that came out of ARs' interview which Divs' post above refutes.
  4. A good number of them....... how many of them were penalties he was involved in winning, a good number of them.
  5. That would be the answer if the question began with a "who", it began with a "what" old chap.........anyway, as always, it's back to semantics rather than substance.
  6. I agree there is no doubt they have to take responsibility for it. As there can be no doubt then why ask the question in the first place (unless the only purpose is to draw attention (blame) to the fact). The more pertinent question, what are we doing this time with regard to picking a manager, was asked (see BLF's post)
  7. I guessed that to be the case.....more pointing out that it is easy to criticise others for not doing the bidding that you can't/won't do for yourself and shouting from afar. The reality may be that others (shareholders) weren't as concerned about the questions above, maybe even agreed with the board on the particular decisions they took or had previously sought out the answers directly from the decision makers. The BoD have made mistakes (in my opinion) and made decisions I didn't agree with but in my experience have always been willing to enter into discussion with me any time I've felt strongly enough to enquire.
  8. Why not attend the AGM and ask the questions yourself?? I was there and didn't feel that there was any sort of barrier to asking relevant (or otherwise) questions.
  9. I'll raise your 10 and ask you to quote where I mentioned you.......you didn't clearly read one post!!
  10. I don't think I've ever read a post where anyone has suggested that the board are beyond either reproach or criticism............from what I've read posters tend to defend the board when certain others criticise absolutely everything they do on every level (repeatedly).
  11. if the stand is rarely full (I agree incidentally) why can't the singers congregate in a bit that is already quite empty........I don't hold with this has to be in the middle stance of BuddieinEK although I have already said I'd like to see, hear, feel a better atmosphere in the ground. Motherwell's singers congregate in a corner at Fir Park, Partick Thistle were behind the goals I think (I know we have the Family stand there), Hibs are in the corner nearest the away stand etc.
  12. Re bit in bold...........so people with designated seats that they like the view from, just now (season tickets), should have to give them up so that "People with designated seats at a part of the stand they like the view from shouldn't have to move to a corner for a sing song and standy uppy experience" can have their designated area designated for them.
  13. I get it, let's try a small section to get a feel for how it will go and when that doesn't work lets try it on a bigger scale and for a longer period just to make sure. (Sarcasm works two ways) I would love to see, hear and feel a better atmosphere at our new home but honestly don't feel free for all is the answer.
  14. Yet it fell on it's arse when an area was allocated for the "chanters" to congregate in and chant away.
  15. You'll find the advantage when you work out how many times the bit in Bold has been true in the last thirty years!!
  16. Are you accusing Thommo and Goody of similar, both regular guests on TV and radio?? Langfield has made mistakes for certain but not sure it's down to a lack of commitment to St Mirren
  17. They probably paid out less than they would have if they'd carried on until the end of their contracts though
  18. Maybe by appealing both they felt that there would be more pressure to rescind at least one of the reds.
  19. I would guess that's whether you've got a boner for giving the board and the manager a hard time for absolutely everything they do or not....personally I'm hoping they get it right and can see some sense in this current appointment.
  20. One thing for certain is that every player will know his role in the side and the job he is expected to do each and every game. Millers attention to detail is absolute and his teams would often spend a couple of hours after training going over the opposition player by player, strength by strength and weakness by weakness......day after day after day until it sank in
  21. that wasn't nice Irvine Buddie, you just knew everyone would start counting managers appointed in their time as a Saints Supporter........19 in my case a certain Mr Fitzpatrick is in there twice!!
  22. From Baird's positioning before the "screenshot" and in realtime Reid is effectively left with two players to deal with as Baird is being drawn away from the man he should be marking, he has to gamble between a ball across the deck towards the number 8 or a cross to the back post. He may well have made the wrong choice but there were other factors that left him having to make the choice.
  23. TC, not for a second suggesting that Reid wasn't at any fault for the first goal but what do you mean by "Baird was there"? Baird was wrong side of his man and neither closing down the cross or in a position to compete for the header with the guy he should have been goal side of.
  24. Which is a totally different point from your previous one and I don't think either of them are connected.
  25. What about the many unpaid hours they put in on the clubs behalf........I'm pretty sure that when you balance out their time against their spend then the average hourly rate will be fairly poor for being a director of St Mirren
